I get takeout from here all the time(the garlic lemongrass shrimp with rice is my favorite!) They always seem super busy, no matter what night, and also do a ton of take out. We’ve been to dinner here a couple times and the atmosphere is super cute! My reasoning for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service can sometimes be a little slow, and even though they hustle, a lot of times there’s only one waiter. My other reason is that they don’t have a dessert menu(which, in my opinion, is the best part!) Also be mindful that the portions are a little small for the appetizers but they’re all delicious and taste nice and fresh! The last couple times I’ve gotten takeout there a young lady named Maddie checked me out and she was the sweetest, so shout out to her! Overall would definitely recommend this place!

First time trying This place. Very authentic. I tried the bahn mi(pork sandwich) which was amazing, fresh spring rolls, and a pork steak entrée. The ingredients were super fresh. The pork steak entrée was served with the bone in. Not as flavorful as I thought and served differently than traditional Vietnamese places I’ve been to but still decent. The fresh shrimp spring rolls are very fresh and the bahn mi sandwich was the best! Will be going again.

My 3rd visit to this restaurant was with my daughter when she had a holiday from school. I reviewed Soall on a different website after my first trip and gave it 5 stars. But today I just felt that I didn’t get my money’s worth. Each visit I’ve ordered the beef phở along with something else. Today it was the fried eggrolls, which I have to admit were very tasty. Only two weeks ago I was here for dinner and ordered a small, but I’m guessing I must have gotten a large phở instead because the portion was generous. Maybe the waiter bungled the order and gave me a large instead. Today I ordered a small beef phở thinking I was going to get the same thing as last time, but boy did I ever get a small. Not only was the dish significantly smaller, but I’d guess there was barely a ½ cup of broth in it. Seriously guys? We’re talking broth here. You couldn’t even give me a full cup of broth? I could understand cutting back on the rice noodles and the bean sprouts for a smaller serving, but give me at least enough broth to feel like I’m getting something to eat. I’m giving it 3 stars because the presentation was still good and the flavor was still good. It really makes me wonder if their success is making them back away from what made me want to return in the first place. With restaurants for me it’s 2 strikes and you’re out. I’ll most likely return in the near future, but if I feel cheated again then it’s over.

I order from(or eat in) about once per month. Flavor and food quality is excellent. The expanded space looks great and has retained a cosy interior that made the first space so special. They are obviously becoming very popular though — average wait for takeout is an hour over the weekend(if you can even get through on their phone to place an order) and don’t bother going without a reservation on a Thursday — Saturday night. Portions are a little small, but Appetizer plus a rice bowl or soup make for a very good meal. Food Quality and Flavors make up for the wait most times, but I’d be eating here once a week if it was easier to place a takeout order.

Love this place… and the expansion has made dining in that much more comfortable and enjoyable. Must haves are the shrimp spring rolls, short ribs, salmon clay pot and my fav: curry chicken soup. Wait staff is attentive and knows their stuff and the new décor is super comfy, yet airy and light. Check it out!

Soall is amazing. The food is authentic, healthy, all made from scratch. Sa(owner) leaves out no details and takes great care in over-seeing all aspects of her kicthen. They recently expanded because business was booming, and after a brief adjustment period they are back on top. I would easily pay a great deal more for such delicious food. The vegetables are always fresh and broth is seasoned to perfection. Be sure to try their new menu item, shrimp fritters, which are shrimp, sweet potato, and onion all fried– a crispy treat! The spring rolls are exquisite and refreshing. I’ve had spring rolls before(other places) where the clear wrapping is chewy, stale, and tasteless, but these break apart in your mouth perfectly and the stuffing is well distributed to ensure each bite is equally tasty.

This is some of the best Vietnamese food we have ever had. Always fresh, hot and simiply delicious! This place is a staple for us! The pork bah minh is excellent, along with the Vermicelli bowls and the Phở(all flavors) is amazing! The shrimp fritters are incredible too. Very tasty. Looks like they have also ironed out the kinks since relaunching the restaurant and there were many. I had some long discussions with the owner and it seems that the management team has made huge strides in getting the wait times(in house and takeout) under control. Soall Bistro rocks! Love it!

I can’t wait to go to Soall Bistro again. I was getting take out and dining in 2 – 3 times per week between lunches and dinners before the close for the expansion. I did not go the first night they announced they would be reopening(like the previous poster did). Anyone with half a brain would see how wildly popular this place is. When you get hundreds of dine in and take out orders the first night you reopen, delays are absolutely going to happen. This is a true testament to how wildly popular and excellent the food is at this gem of a restaurant in beautiful Marblehead.

Recently Re-Opened… Service was terrible tonight!!! Takeout was backed up over two hours and still did not get our order… This Re-Opening was a FAIL. Many customers walked out without being served and management did not appear to be sympathetic. I could have ordered take-out from Bangkok and had it delivered quicker than the miserable service at this establishment.

We went there this evening and they are closed. Their website makes it seem like they are open but they are not. There is a note on the door apologizing but it does not mention when they will reopen or why they closed.

Amazing! The phở is awesome… as is everything else I’ve tried. Please let this be a test case for Swampscott/Marblehead that we like good food! More more more!

Relativley new to Marblehead(came within the last year or two) and I am blown away about what a strong addition this is to the towns local eateries. Very fair price for a very good meal, in fact, I’d say the customer is getting the better end of the deal here. If you haven’t tried it, it’s a must.

So far… so GOOD! Great little hidden gem in the coastal sailing town of Marblehead. Friendly staff and fast service. Got my first takeout order of Shrimp Spring Rolls( Unilocalers rave about them here) and the Chicken Curry Soup. Fragrant curry blended with chicken meat was worth the 10 bucks. Glad I discovered this rare Vietnamese restaurant here. They are few and far between on the North Shore. And it looks like they’re expanding next door so life is good at Soall Bistro! I’ll be back for a sit down dinner soon!

Now that I’ve gone a bunch of times for take out and eat in, I can say that the food is delicious though the portions are small as some others have mentioned. But the service is always spotty. It’s like they hire servers and people to take and put together orders, but either don’t interview them well enough to assess their competence, or don’t train them well enough. Since they’ve been around for a few years now, these definitely aren’t start-of-business kinks that are being worked out. It’s always a bit chaotic there, which is too bad.

Delicious! Great food with very simple ingredients. I got the chicken phở, which was very good. My friend got the beef over rice and that was also really good. They were a little understaffed but it was fine– the kids were doing their best to keep up with everything. I will absolutely be back to this place!

Delightfully unexpected little Vietnamese restaurant tucked away in Marblehead. Simple ingredients, simply prepared AND they serve wine — and a pretty nice selection at that. If you’re a fan of this kind of cuisine, you’ll know that Vietnamese food is typically inexpensive — but bear in mind this is situated in one of the more posh places on the north shore — so sure, it’s a little more expensive than those places in Dorchester’s Vietnamese neighborhoods. But not so much so that you’d take note. When I’m in the area I love to dine here and enjoy the Salmon in a clay pot with a glass of Conundrum or Toasted Head chardonnay. The space is small, simple but tastefully decorated. If you’re in Marblehead or Swampscott, I’d recommend it.

Soall gets 2 thumbs up from the whole family. From the spring rolls, clay pots and phở you can’t go wrong! Gets very busy and it’s a small space so keep that in mind. Worth the wait!

I go to Soall frequently because of the freshness and passion for their food. I get the Phở everytime and can’t resist the spring rolls. You HAVE to try both! The spring rolls are DELICIOUS my favorite is the shrimp or eggplant. Couldn’t tell you which over which. The beef skewers are also good. The PHO delicious and I suggest it anytime you need a fresh bowl of yummy soup. The waitstaff is friendly and pretty in point. MUSTGO!

Food taste is OK, the size is so tiny but price is higher than other Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered the crispy spring roll, 2 Phở — 1 beef, 1 chicken … spring roll only 1 small piece … phở size is considered to be tiny /mini, it is half the size of the small bowl that you find in Lynn, Peabody — Sugar Cane, Phở Paris in Rt-1 S., regular Vietnamese restaurant. The Phở soup is very tasty though on salty side. The price Phở w/beef 9.99, w/chicken 8.99 are pricy and limited choice.

Glad we finally caught this place open. I guess their winter hours are dinner only so call ahead just to make sure they are open. We had spring rolls, phở and bahn mi. All delicious and affordable for Marblehead. You order at the counter and have the option to sit down or place an order to-go(they also deliver now!). We paid after our meal… not sure if others had the same experience, but the tip part is a little awkward since service is limited as it’s mostly a pick up and sit down kind of place. They have bottled beer and wine as well. We will definitely be back. Cozy place with delicious Vietnamese food. Great addition to Marblehead!
