I hate to be negative about a small-town independently owned place but our latest experience here is probably our last. Arrived on a Saturday at about 2:00 to get some lunch and drinks. There weren’t many people in the place but it took well over an hour after ordering to get our food! All we ordered was a black bean salad and some wings. Somehow the cook managed to make the wings cool, mushy and gelatinous — as if undercooked — even though they looked almost burnt. The salad was almost inedible. Seemed to involve dumping cold canned beans over iceberg lettuce. We did not finish either order. Others in the bar were becoming visibly upset about the wait, especially after a call-in order was taken and filled before the orders of those of us who were already there. This gets two stars only because the atmosphere is pretty good and the bartender/server did a decent job.

What can I say? It’s a step above bar f ood in a cozy environment with friendly people serving. It’s a neighborhood place and we enjoy it when we visit our cottage on a nearby lake. We bring our kids earlier for dinner and when we come without kids we enjoy the live music they often have on the weekends.
