This is not your typical park for kids. The parking lot is huge — big enough to accommodate trailers and haul small boats to the back of your car. This park is basically a local boat launching area if you own your own boat /kayak for a small fee. They have a dock for people to watch and an area for you to clean your catch for the day. The pelicans come right up to you waiting for the leftover fish that you’ve cut and cleaned up. Nice to watch for a little entertainment, but otherwise not much to do in this area unless you have your own boat to take it out for a spin.

This park really isn’t much of a park. At least not when you think of the amenities a park should include, like a place for children to run around or even something as simple as grass. They have a boat ramp for anyone who wishes to use it. It’s $ 8.00 for a motorized vessel and $ 4.00 for a non-motorized vessel. They also offer yearly permits, however, I didn’t pop into the store to find out the price. We don’t live in the area and it just wouldn’t make any sense to acquire a permit. I checked the website before coming here. The marina store carries the usual supplies such as tackle, frozen/live bait(yummy squid, I’m sure!), snacks, sunblock, etc. They also have a fuel dock, which is convenient. They have a fairly decent amount of parking, but I’m suspecting that it gets busy on the weekends. We went late in the afternoon during the week, so it wasn’t busy at all. Some people were fishing, others were enjoying the view. It was a very nice view. They have restrooms and a few picnic tables, but that’s about it. I wasn’t aware that I needed to bring my own chairs so we would have a place to sit other than the hard gravel or the dock. If you decide to give this extremely small«park» a visit, bring chairs. They say that the park is four acres, but most of the space is taken up by the parking lot. All in all, it isn’t a bad little spot. Plus, it’s free. I don’t really recommend this place for children unless you are taking them fishing or out on a boat/kayak/etc. Most children don’t really want to patiently sit and watch for dolphins. Don’t get me wrong. If I were alone, I could come here and watch the gulf for hours. I enjoy watching for dolphin, birds or other sea creatures that may decide to present themselves. However, that will have to be on a solo trip, when I can really take my time to enjoy it.

Beautiful little park tucked away at the«corner» of Marco Island. We stumbled upon it by chance when we were getting the feel of the island after our first visit to the farmer’s market. One of those Jet Ski adventure tours was taking off as we got there and everyone looked like they were having a grand old time. There was more than enough parking for all types of vehicles, but I could see on a busier day it might be harder to find a spot. Collier County beach sticker holders are also able to launch their boats for free here, and I think the sign said it was $ 8 to do so if you were not a resident. We spent about an hour or so just staring at the water and watching the wildlife. Gulls, Ibis, Heron and more flew by(or hung out around waiting for fishermen to disregard the«do not feed the birds, use fish disposal tube» sign posted). An adorable little dolphin kept surfacing and inadvertently ended up putting on a show for us, a few other couples young and old, and a family that just arrived with adorable little kids. Simply a perfect afternoon(and we didn’t even get bitten up by bugs while there!). There’s also a little bait shop as well as clean bathrooms out back. If you are in the area and looking for a quiet spot to relax for a moment or an hour, head over to Caxambas Park on Marco Island.

i ate too much. miss f ate too much too. all we need is to find a beach where we could take a nap but unfortunately we cant find a public beach on the island, just private… so i go on Unilocal, find this park and drive over. the park is tiny, mostly a pier/dock and a boat ramp and thats about it. there were some friendly people fishing and some other just chillin. we stared at the sea and saw a couple of dolphins… lay down by the dock for a bit and then suddenly we are totally sleeping profoundly. no one is bothering us. its peaceful. its a beautiful day. whats not to like?
