This place is a total nightmare. The beer is warm and overpriced. They don’t have air conditioning, so the place just hot and uncomfortable. They use«air curtains» which are loud and annoying.

If you’d like to dine with the flies, this is your place! My family and I came here for a late lunch today. The fact that there was no one in the restaurant and the owner was sitting outside smoking should have sent up a red flag. But we were hungry, so we thought we’d give it a try. The front of the restaurant was open to the outdoor patio(no screen), making it very fly-friendly. None of us had a good meal! The grouper I ordered did not taste fresh at all. My husband’s Reuben sandwich was full of fatty corned beef that was in chunks rather than layered and was very gristly. My daughter’s french fries were very hard – possibly leftovers that were warmed or refried? The waitress never asked us if our food was ok. We had a $ 60 tab for food that was mostly uneaten. Even when the waitress cleared our plates, she didn’t question all the leftover food. It did NOT seem like a very clean restaurant.

Went here around 4:00pm yesterday. Only a handful of people in the place. The place inside was what you would expect for a pub in America. I will say the Food was Great. You have to try the Loaded Potato Appetizer & the Corned Beef. Awesome. I would Order out from there anytime. As far as going there. Never Again. This was the worst place for service I have ever been. Our Waitress was never to be found. The bus girl & another waiter was helping us out. Our waitress was into some drama. Saw her crying, sitting at the front bar talking & sitting at the back bar on her phone. If a Waitress with Long Blonde hair in a ponytail comes to your table name starts with an A.(Thats What is on our Receipt) Ask for someone else. Everything but doing her job but I guess that was ok with her. Everyone else was doing it for her. Never Again. I understands things happen in life that we can not for see but if you can’t do your job at a business where you have to be seen by the public. Then you need to step away & let someone handle your tables. The reputation of the business is what suffers.

Steer clear of this place. The fish was bland and cold! I got it blackened but came only with light spicing. The service was good and I liked the seats.

Casual, friendly atmosphere. Both the service and the food were good. There was also entertainment which livened up the night. We had a very good time and would go back again next time we are in the area.

My wife and I just had a very nice meal there. We both had burgers which were just terrific. Perfectly cooked and juicy on a nice roll. House made hand cut fires were excellent and not greasy. Mashed potatoes were also very good. Drinks were extremely strong! Reasonable prices for Marco Island. Service was excellent and checked on us throughout the meal.

We recently visited Marco Island for a long weekend. In search of a place to catch the football game on Sunday afternoon, we tried out O’Donoghue’s across the street from the Hilton where we were staying. What a great surprise! It was the perfect place to watch the game and the food was outstanding. It was quiet as it is the offseason. We had the four onion soup, salads and the Blackened Grouper Reuben and the traditional Reuben. The soup was unique and delightful — great flavor. The corned beef was so good and delicious — thick sliced(SOGOOD) and the Blackened Grouper Reuben was perfect. The fish was so fresh tasting and juicy — not oily. They definitely know what they are doing there. When we return to Marco Island I will be sure to try their Irish specialties although it will be hard for me not to order the exact same thing! The waitress was very friendly and accommodating.

I don’t generally like Irish food, but it was close to the hotel and it was late. We ordered the burger and the corned beef sandwich with the intent of each eating one half. The sandwich was tasty and big in size but the burger was truly awesome. The kitchen messed up the first burger and they immediately brought out a second. We sat at the bar and the service was very good.

Had shepherd’s pie with beef noodle soup — very goid. Baileys irish cream cheesecake was fantastic. As well as the Harp I had with dinner!

Solid buffalo wings. Nice bartenders and owner. Waitress(blonde) was a little stiff and seemed annoyed we were there. She could not wait to go home. That’s all. I would definitely come back.

I so wish I could give O’Donoghue’s a better review, because I had high hopes for the place. I had been once when they first opened on Marco, and it was a very positive experience. They’ve since moved to a new location, and I don’t know what on earth happened. When we arrived, there was no staff attending what is apparently the hostess stand, which is off to the side in a corner, hiding behind a door. You would think it’s just spare furniture. We stood in the entrance for a few minutes being confused before we just walked into the dining room and stopped a waitress, who told us to just sit anywhere. It took ten full minutes for us to even get menus. We ordered Irish sausages for an appetizer, which WERE tasty, but so greasy that they dripped when we bit into them, and overpriced for the amount of food you get(I believe it was $ 8 for 2). The sandwiches we ordered were quite decent, but getting them took forever. Service was very slow and there were only three or four other parties dining at the time. Poor waitress tried her best and was very polite, but it was just so slow. Our bill for two waters, two sandwiches, and the appetizer came to $ 46(yes! $ 46!) not counting tip. And that’s at lunch time. Sorry, but I will not be in a rush to come back.

Went for lunch while on our Marco vacation. Great location just right across from the Hilton resort. Location was totally wasted by bad food and horrible service. Ordered their expensive burger that they claim is prime. Came out grey, even though it was cooked medium rare. Only good thing on the burger was the bacon. French fries were terrible. Beer glass was chilled but beer was flat. Worst tasting Guinness I have had anywhere. That is saying something especially for an Irish place. Sat outside and at least 2 other parties got up and left before even ordering as nobody even came to great them and take drink order. In fact the one party was thanked for coming as they walked out waitress was not even aware they had not been served and left totally upset. The island deserves a great Irish pub and Resturant, this is not it. Will not be back and advise others to try the other great restaurants in that area instead. Great area for shopping and food and a great ice cream place all in the Marco Walk.

Corned beef was much, much better. Side salad was $ 6.00. The beer was served ice cold and the glass was frosted.

Visited the place the First night we arrived — not packed on a Saturday Night. Hmmm Service Needs some attention, shepherds pie is better than I expected after reading the reviews on UrbanSpoon. Wife tried the Chicken Philly Style Sandwich, VERY Soggy and not happy. She won’t order that again. The Spicy Chicken Soup was great!

Homemade french fries were delicious! Will come back just for these, plus a few beers. Service was polite but a little slow. Parking was somewhat difficult due to the movie theater and Mexican restaurant in same parking lot. This place has more of an American sports bar vibe to it(to me at least) than the Irish-themed bars that seem to be growing in popularity in recent years. Hands down, it’s worth it for the french fries.

Went on a Sunday night inbetween the afternoon games and the Sunday night game. Decent crowd seemed to be mostly dispersing. Bar was empty but was asked to wait a few minutes — no big deal. I used to bartend and understand they get busy. Waited… waited… waited. after 10 minutes of nothing but an occasional glance from another employee one of who seemed to be a manager we decided to leave. On our way out saw the original bartender who asked us to wait laughing and talking with a friend… never going back.

Place is semi busy, band playing, and after sitting for 10 minutes with out getting greeted or a drink… We asked the bus boy for a waitress to order a drink. Again nothing. So ended up going to the bar and getting it ourselves. This place isn’t very busy, yet we were told the waitstaff had a lot of tables. Hmm we came for a drink. Not an excuse. In the mean time our waitress is giving us the stare down while watching us get our own drinks. Wow. This is the beginning of season and this type of service is already happening? I’ve been here before and enjoyed myself. Not this evening however. It’s to bad really as they are in a great area that can draw lots if business.

My wife, son and I had just arrived in Marco and we were hungry. We looked on Unilocal for local flavor and found this place. It was about 3pm so the place was empty except for the couple sitting in the bar. My son ordered Coors and I had to go with the Guinness which was awesome. My wife and I both went with the corned beef and hand cut fries while my son went with the chicken pot pie. The corned beef was very tender and with the spicy mayo it gave it a nice flavor. The chicken pot pie came out in a pastry type bread which out server placed on to the plate and then opened it up in the middle where she poured the chicken. I think that my son broke the record for eating one of these as he was done before I finished half of my sandwich. The server was very attentive and made sure that we were comfortable.

Awesome food. Went there with our family of 6. Very attentive and kind. Kids loved the food. Irish chicken pastry pie was amazing and so was the Guinness stew. Service was very accommodating along with bar tender. True irish hospitality.
