Every time my family goes down the shore we always eat here. The staff here is wonderful from the bussers to the servers. I have celiac disease and need to eat gluten free. They accommodate me everytime. My food is always delicious. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the environment is small and very noisy. Other than that, I love eating here.

2 hours for a salad delivery 2 blocks from restaurant they have 15 yr old girls answering the phones who dont care if you are unhappy. 20 dollars for a salad and a 2 hour wait not a good combo!

I was starving, and nothing is as satisfying as a nice big italian meal when you’re hungry! It was almost 4pm, and lunch was feeling like supper! What I did not expect was to be treated by the chef and waitress as though I were a celebrity! You can tell warmed over food from freshly prepared food, and this was fresh. I could tell that cooking was the chef’s passion, and that he found my enjoyment of his skill to be his greatest reward. This cannot be faked… he makes blackened chicken to be believably Italian. The fresh green been were cooked, seasoned, and served fresh enough to snap, but sautéed full of flavor! 30 seconds longer and it would have been greasy, soggy, and tasted like an old skillet. It was cooke 20 seconds less, the olive oil wouldn’t have had yet brought in all the flavor. Everything was ideal. Even the bread and olive oil with seasoning. You could tell his enthusiasm in having me enjoy his work! My pasta was ordered when I was starving, and I felt guilty asking for it «too go.» So, tonight, watching my new favorite show, that pasta called me. I opened it and found it was as good as everything else…(did he sneak another 2 spoonfuls of pasta and tomato gravy in there?) I hope to be back there soon!

Good food at good prices. I don’t understand the poor ratings, unless the place used to be over-the-top and is now less. The food for our party was uniformly good, in good-sized portions and served with a smile.

Visited last evening. This was our first trip to their new location. We were regulars at their old location for many years. The new place is very small and unbelievably noisy. The service was deplorable; and this is in January. It took 3o minutes just to get a menu. The food was ok, but the tomato sauce was too thin. Overall, I would rate our experience as a C-.

Sad to say that they have lost my business after many years of loyal support. The You g lady who took my take out order was a bit rude. When we opened our order at home the food was cold, portion size a tiny disgrace and the bread was stale. I called to let them know and there was zero response. They could utterly care less!!! What happened to our great little piece of Margate heaven? Very sad

Had dinner there Tuesday night may I just say the best meal we’ve had in a while, our wonderful server Angie took such good care of us like we were family!!! Chicken Franchise was outta this world!!! Great food great service we can’t wait to return and its BYOB !!!

My pasta was tasty, well cooked. Pretty good. My friend had 28 $ seafood risotto and her scallops were so dried out… mine was a 3 hers was 2. Bread on the table when you get there is bomb tho and we sat outside… which was a good choice based on volume inside.

Went there for the first time last night and it was terrible. We waited in the restaurant for 5 minutes before we had to go up to somebody to seat us. We waited another 10 minutes for our waitress to greet us. She was clearly high on something. She never offered us drinks so we had to asked her to get us ice teas. She got us one of the drinks that we ordered 10 minutes later. While we were waiting for our food the waitress got into a fight with her other table and then continued to ignore them for the rest of the night. We got the linguini, sausage, and rabe which was tasteless and penne pollo. Penne pollo sauce was delicious but the chicken on top was burnt. After we were finished we had to wait another 15 minutes for our check. The food would get about 3 stars because the penne pollo and cheesesteak egg roll were both good, but the service gets a zero. I would recommend getting take out if u want to try it.

2 stars for effort. Called one week prior to dinner. Only reservation available for Saturday was outside… said that would be fine. Arrived 7:25 to see all outside tables full and just ordering. Spoke to hostess who said she’d work things out with Chris, the manager. Didn’t take long for us to be seated inside. Hostess was biting her nails as she was seating us. Yuck!!! Menus, water and bread came and then no wait staff for additional 30 minutes. We were told kitchen was backed up when we asked for our waitress. No problem since we weren’t in a rush. No one inside had any meals except for bread! Orders finally taken and 30 or so minutes later apps arrived. All good albeit far from hot, including the soups. Dinner arrived about 20 minutes later. Again all good but not hot. Had to ask 3 times for grated cheese and peppers. Therefore the 2 stars for effort. Barrels moved from it very efficient location to its new very unorganized digs. Summer is drawing to a close and in, at least 8 weeks, barrels didn’t get their act together. We are locals, not that this should matter, but this was our second visit and for certain there will not be a third! VERYDISAPPOINTED!

This place used to be the place I would go to for very good Italian food. I would recommend this to anyone. Now, not so much. Since the move to Jerome Ave. the food quality has taken a dip! Wait times are horrendous and I can’t help but think it’s because of the small kitchen. I just ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it was the smallest portion ever. The chicken was tough and the bread was stale. Very disappointing. If Chris is reading this, please do something quickly to improve the current state and try to return it to the quality you had prior to the move.

I would never recommend this restaurant. We called to find out what time they closed this evening. They responded 9:30 and they will seat up until 9:15. So we went over immediately. Arrived at 8:40. They said sorry we are closed. That is how you treat your customers? Bad for business.

Well, call it as it is… the new space is small, the food is bland, the service is pretty mediocre, and the restaurant is noisy. First off, I will say that the waitstaff and busboys are good. They care and try hard. It’s just that the restaurant and kitchen are just not set up correctly to deal with any volume. I was there with a party of 8 and we all had different dishes. Everyone agreed that the good was bland, the portions were small and really not memorable. The salads were all pretty bland and the tomatoes on the caprisi salad were horrible. They resembled hoagie tomatoes. Enough, the food was ok. The acoustics are poor. The bathroom looks like a hair salon from 1972(the space was a hair salon at one point). And they had us wait for 20 min to seat us for our reservation because they could not move the party from our table. I figured out that it was a function of them not giving the table the check. It’s the shore and a lot is forgiven. It’s not costly and the owners and staff do care about the customers. It’s just that the food is pretty mediocre and not that good.
