Dirty, smelly, outdated all around. My first impression is the roof and facia, the exterior is in dire need of maintenance. Once inside the smell of sewage hits you, it’s coming from the ladies bathroom. The carpet is old glue down carpet that had a beaten path through the center in contrast to the edges that are never walked on to show you how bad it really is. It doesn’t appear that the carpet has ever been cleaned. The salad(or hot bar) bar area has plastic plants covered in a thick blanket of dust around the top(decoration??). The tables(and floors) are sticky and the service isn’t better than the atmosphere. It needs a major cleanup, it’s outdated, worn out and probably a health hazard to the people who work there. The sewage problem alone is a huge indication of neglect.

They don’t take American Express so I walked out as fast as I walked in. Might explain why parking lot is so empty. I travel for a living and Amex is the company form of payment so nope. Went to Waffle House instead.

Best fried okra I’ve ever had. Same for the chicken livers and chicken and dumplings.

Excellent home food quality is the best. I tried liver n onions and my husband country fried steak a they were just perfect. They offer a lot of choices for your sides. Try the hish puppies you will love them. Food is cooked when you order as welll as the bread. I dedinetly recommend this place. It is not luxury and maybe can look a little oldie but es a clean and comfortable place

Driving from Panama City Beach on our way back to Atlanta we stopped to grab some food. We were going to grab fast food, but then saw PO Folks. It was a good decision. The staff was a bit slow on greeting and seating, but other than that it was a good experience. Service was good. They were out of a few items on the menu, but the waitress quickly offered other options. Food came out fast. Food was delicious.

PoFolks used to be one of my favorite restaurants in AZ many years ago. I was so excited to find one here. Lived up to its reputation as I remember it. Good down home country cooking & not expensive.

Not impressed at all. Waited thirty minutes to get food. Then the fries were cold and soggie and the okra was burned. Chicken was good but roll was soggie and the country fried steak was just okay and their famous sauce was tasteless. Had a hard time even giving this a one star. Would never recommend

The kitchen forgot my ice cream on the strawberry shortcake dessert to go last nite. Maybe the preparer was new there. How do u forget the ice cream??? Big sign out front says breakfast 6 am. Store is closed, on door it says hours 1030 am. So I could not even get a refund for last nites dessert. I am traveling thru the area. Big FAIL from kitchen, and FAIL with signage of breakfast hours.

I don’t even want to give this place one star. I do not like to give poor reviews, but I wish others would of warned me how awful this place is. This was the greasiest and blandest fried chicken ever! Not edible and and extremely dirty resturant. Yuck!

I absolutely was NOT expecting to give this establishment 5 stars. Seriously. They happen to be located next to the worst hotel I’ve ever had the displeasure of staying up all night in…(I can’t say sleep, as the bed was so awful, I never actually fell asleep) The first visit, we just got our oldest strawberry shortcake to go, she loved it. The next day for lunch I went with the family. Mark got the chicken and dumplings. He said they tasted like someone followed my own recipe, and folks… I make a tasty dumplin’ My oldest had the whitefish, which was basically fish and chips. The fish was melt in your mouth tender, with a perfect batter crust that managed to taste both decadent and not at all greasy. It came with two sides, she chose cole slaw(excellent and well seasoned) and baked apples(tender and not mushy, with lovely pumpkin pie spices). I chose the Kuntry Steak(yes… that’s how they spell it), mashed potatoes and a corn on the cob… which my youngest gave a big thumbs up, I don’t think she left a single kernel. I loved it all with the exception of the mashed potatoes. But, I had both Mark and Luna try it and they loved them… so I guess I just like chunkier potatoes. But here is where the rubber hits the road. BISCUITS. Oh man… They were tall, golden, piping hot and pure perfection. The outer crumb possessed an almost pastry-like flakiness, the inside was a cloud of warm goodness. I rarely expect much anymore from a biscuit. Usually, they taste slightly stale, full of artificial butter and way too much leavening agent. But not so these. I took a picture… you probably shouldn’t look at it… then you’ll want to get stranded there like we did when our car caught on fire traveling back home from Houston, TX.

Not sure what I expected when I walked in the door but it definitely wasn’t the super warm greeting I got. The southern syrup was so sweet that my teeth developed an ache before I even got to a seat. The sweet welcome didn’t stop at the door. It carried through to one of the best servers I’ve had anywhere. Lisa was her name and she was patient, proficient and speedy. She didn’t mind that we wanted to explore the whole menu before settling on the buffet. She checked on us regularly and didn’t hover. A true gem. It being there was a buffet today that contained all of my happy southern food favorites. Meatloaf, mashed po’tater, gravy, fried chicken, fish, greens and even sweet po’tater casserole. Everything was just like a little piece of heaven. All of the above and more was topped by a glass of sweet tea, southern style, get a cavity from it sweet and oh so fabulous. This was a great place to grab lunch on a lazy Sunday.

Great down home cookin. Great place to take the family out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Once a year my family comes down from all over the upper 48 .We all meat here for breakfast about 10 adults and 12to15 kids of us and the staff take good care of us. Last year we wiped the buffet out of bacon and eggs twice so the waiter just brought us our own big pan of bacon and eggs. To the table .lol. I recommend this place to every one.

Good food. Our waitress Molly was super sweet. We took our 7 kids there and filled up. The chicken fried steak was great. Good hush puppies. Chicken and dumplings were like homemade. Nothing low fat here!

I Eat at one of these every time I pass one. If your looking for health food this is not the place. I crave the country fried steak samwich. I even got the hubby addicted. Dirt cheap prices as well.

This is an old greasy spoon. If you like to stop at a truck stop this is probably the best, but not on the top 100 list. We stop here due to my wife and sister-in-law remembering their childhood. Well needless to say their childhood memories were ruined by this stop.

We all just needed lunch This place was near the highway, so ended up here. Basically it’s your typical Denny’s or that style buffet. Fried chicken, okra, salad, etc. It was good, price was right. No compliants
