Batteries Plus Bulbs

We needed a battery for our gate key-​fob so we stopped in at Batteries Plus Bulbs. There was no-​one out front when we came in but there seemed to be lots of movement/​sounds coming from the back. I hate that feeling of walking into a shop and no-​one is around and you have to clear your throat or say «hello» in order to get someone’s attention. Anyway, after 30 seconds or so, a very nice man came out and greeted us. We told him what we needed and he asked if we’d like the lifetime warranty instead of just a regular battery. Since the lifetime warranty seemed like a much better deal and was only $ 5 more, we decided to go with that. He went into the back and returned really quickly because, on second look, our key-​fob didn’t qualify for the lifetime warranty deal after all. Bummer. But he sold us the regular battery and was kind enough to change it for us instead of just letting us fumble with it, so that was nice. The battery was very affordable and in no time he had changed it.
We’d been needing a new key fob for our vehicle as well and we’d noticed a sign on the door as we came in that said they provided those so we asked about it. That’s when he told us that they no longer have the machine that produces the key fobs in store and that that sign should’ve been taken down a while ago. Bummer again.
Although they didn’t have exactly what we were looking for, the employee was very nice and they do seem to have a large selection of batteries for everything and anything you could think of. They also sell odds and ends like speakers and other small electronics and of course LIGHT BULBS. They also fix cracked cell phone screens.

I won’t be using this company for batteries or bulbs anymore. I have shopped there regularly for years. At the end of September, I bought 4 pricey little halogen bulbs for my mountain cabin. I gave the sales clerk the old bulb. She picked out what she thought I needed. It was the wrong size. I first tried to return the bulbs to a more convenient store location, only to find that they are franchises and don’t share computer systems. They sat in my car for a few weeks until I got back to Marietta. I was told that they only have a two week return policy and could not do anything for me. Really, even when your sales clerk picked out the wrong merchandise? Most stores these days have liberal return policies Why go to a store that doesn’t, and that doesn’t value good customers? I’ll just go to Home Depot or buy online and save money.

They advertise that they have Odyssey batteries but they only have one motorcycle battery.
They wanted to charge me $ 15 just to take the cover off my keyless entry fob to replace the batteries. I figured it out and saved the money.

I have used this store for battery needs from cell phones, car batteries, and even baby monitors. They always have a battery for what every you need but they don’t always have the exact brand of battery. The people who work there are always helpful. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is on a few occasions I wanted I a specific battery. I figured a battery only place would have all brands in stock but they didn’t. Luckily they did have a battery of some sorts.
