Same issue that Gary R. ran into. Made the trip to try out Blacksmith Barbecue and it sure looks like they’ve closed up shop. Their sign is still there but the menu boards are empty and it looks closed up. Their website makes it look like they’re still in business but think twice before making a special trip.

05÷20÷16 — I made a special trip off of I-​77 to try this place out on a friday. By the hours posted on Unilocal says it was open and was sad to see that it was closed. So my question is this place still open and if so how about updating your hours

Riverside, CA
Everybody has a test for BBQ. Mine is not scientific: No cheating taste with a sugary, syrupy sauce of any kind (BLAAH!), and I want a little smokey black on the outside, with maybe a smoke ring around the edges. Blacksmith passes on all counts, and at a good price (under $ 8).
The brisket is singularly magnificent. Worth driving here from Parkersburg WV or anywhere else. Get the platter, and sit by the Ohio River watching the world go by as you devour your brisket. Comes with a nice fruit cup, and it’s half pound of love, so no skimping on portions! Almost makes me want to live here again.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now, and finally did today. Outstanding. I’ve had my fair share of barbecue over the years, and Kevin’s craftful ‘cue rivals the best of the best. I brought home a pound of brisket (only $ 16) with his recommended sauces and was grinning ear-​to-​ear after the first bite. It’s smoky, it’s sweet and it’s salty. Marietta, I hope you know what you have here. Enjoy!

Some of the best BBQ I’ve eaten! It’s now a walk up restaurant without indoor facilities so plan accordingly but they are great for take out or when the weather is nice. It’s also located RIGHT on the river with a great view!
Don’t let the picnic table and small building fool you! I’ve enjoyed this BBQ from the last three locations they’ve been at and I’ve never been disappointed with the food!

My husband and I stopped by Blacksmith BBQ today and were born away by how great the food was. We (especially my husband) are barbecue lovers and have had our fair share. We both agree that the brisket is most likely the best in Ohio. We will be back!

Best BBQ in town! Had the Texas brisket sandwich and it was great. Recommend getting the baked beans and Mac and cheese as a side. Will defiantly be back again.

The brisket sandwich is great. You have to try it I was blown away. Very moist with great flavor and took about 3 mins to have ready. Great I will back many times.
