My experience at Jamela Beauty Salon in Marietta, Ga. was awesome. The staff was very professional, the hairstylist that did my hair was very efficient and polite. She did my hair in record time of three hours and I would say she did a awesome job. I am very happy with my long kinky twist and I have received numerous compliments on the work. Thank you Nora the stylist who did my hair I am very satisfied. Great work! Keep doing a great job I will continue to come there for my hair braiding needs:) Arlene C.

New address: 1508 Roswell Road Marietta, Georgia (In the Marietta shopping center across the street from McDonalds and the Chevron station) Same phone# 678−560−0330 I went there today and, as always, I am completely satisfied with my results. This was my third visit in the past 18 months. The new shop is great. Nothing like the other.

Jamela’s Hair Braiding Salon is and has always been an enjoyable experience for me. This was my second time in eight months and I love the following aspects of the experience. 1) The place is clean and the atmosphere gives you an international experience. 2) Most of the beauticians speak French, but they will translate if you ask them what they said. You must be secure in who you are not take the cross talk personally. 3) I always show a picture of what I want and got exactly what I asked for each time. 4) You get what you pay for, I expect excellent service, braids that are beautiful, and last for three months or more and that is what I got. 5) I asked for a water and was blessed with it without having to pay for it. 6) Each lady doesn’t mind helping the other to get you out in records time. I do and would recommend this shop to other friends and family.

Jamela’s isn’t horrible. It’s a million notches more professional than a lot of places(minus the exhaustive French banter across the store and presumable talk of its clients). The ladies are all VERY nice with good customer service. However, I believe it’s pricey(simple, box braids run at $ 170 and $ 40 for the take down — if same day). 125th Street in Harlem is a fraction of the price for both services, but I digress… Note: It’s BYOConditioner The braiding here is a little tighter than I’m used to and sparser. Meaning I like voluminous, full braids. And don’t expect to be asked what style you’re getting; just tell them upfront to avoid weird miscommunication. I’ll probably come back while I’m in town as the braids are pretty, but they aren’t laying completely flat yet. Just got ‘em yesterday

I thought I would write this review since my experience was less than spectacular… I decided to visit Jamela’s to get my hair braided this past weekend. I chose to get Kinky 2-Strand Twist and they ladies assured me I would be done in a matter of hours so I proceeded with the service. Before they started twisting my hair, I «tried» to explain to them exactly what I wanted. She proceeded to do the Kinky Twist the way she WANTED despite my clear description. I continued on with the service despite my better judgement. By the time my hair was complete, I had approximately 5 different women braiding my hair and my twist ended not being uniform in the amount of hair that was used + technique. Anyway frustrated at this point and really wanting to the hell out of there, I paid the ladies and went on with my day. Once I got home, I realized they never twisted all the way to the ends of the twist(I couldn’t see this because they rolled the ends up and they were curly when I left the shop) leaving me with fuzzy raggedy ends. My hair just looks less than professional and for $ 160 I expect better service and results than this. I would warn ladies if you decide to go there for a style, please make sure they know exactly what you want and get a clear understanding of what the finish product will look like before you proceed and end up walking away disappointed like me.
