My husband and I are here for lunch. Very ni e dine in environment, really good service and the food was fantastic.

My husband and I ate here tonight. It was totally awesome! The service was quick and attentive for us. We had the rock shrimp appetizer, the king crab roll, the lonely angel roll, the sashimi appetizer, yellowtail, sea bass, and octopus. all of it was fabulous. I already want to go back for seconds!

I was excited to try out this new hibachi restaurant in East Cobb which is in dire need of more restaurants. I was a little disappointed upon walking in since I was expecting it to be the type of hibachi restaurant that does a cooking demonstration in front of you. Instead, it’s simply a Japanese restaurant that serves hibachi food, no show. The food was ok, and the prices were fairly standard. Nothing really wowed me about the restaurant. But it’s just nice to have another option. Overall, though, it’s not a place I’m rushing to go back to.

This is our third day in a row eating at Kumo and I must say, This place is Officially my favorite Sushi restaurant in the entire Metro Atlanta area! For its location, you wouldn’t expect the authentic Japanese experience you get at this place. We ordered different rolls every time and every roll is good. Our favorite is the Volcano roll! It is sooooo good! All of the rolls we ordered were gourmet rolls and they were prepared with excellence. As a huge sushi lover that grew tired of the mundane rolls, this place has renewed my love for Sushi again. If you are in the area, you must try this place. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I ventured out to a newly opened sushi place in our neighborhood. What a great experience. Wonderfully presented, great tasting and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

This was our first time visiting. Me and my teenage girls went for my birthday dinner. Spacious dining room. Friendly staff quickly greeted us. Although it was a Tuesday evening. :). We ordered sushi and fried rice for the non-sushi eater. I thought the sushi was wonderful. I did miss my hot sake to accompany my sushi. Definitely will return and put it on the take out list, too!

I was excited to see this place when the sign went up. I missed the Fro yo place but this area really needs more restaurants that aren’t fast food or take out. This place is a little fancier than I expected(I was guessing it would be more like Xengo?) I felt a little out of place with my two young children and felt a little judged by the patrons that I bought young kids here(I rarely feel this way in East Cobb!). Anyways, this place is hibachi but they don’t cook in front of you. The food was standard fare hibachi — not the best I’ve had, but not the worst. Same with service. I think overall I was hoping for more of a family friendly place and this place just didn’t wow me in terms of food or service. It’s a wonderful place to try out and much needed in the neighborhood, just didn’t work for us sadly.

Great atmosphere and décor. Sushi and hibachi were awesome. Good service. Catered to us with 5 year old. Roomy and uncrowded. They didn’t have liquor license as of this review.

My family and I stopped in at Kumo last night. I read the other reviews and they have definitely corrected their service issues. I used to be a restaurant owner and every new place has its opening issues so understand this folks. The interior/ambience is fun, nicer than I was expecting, we were seated immediately and given menus at a clean table. Our drink order, water, was taken and brought almost immediately. We ordered 3 rolls and some assorted nigiri. One thing to mention, the nigiri looks smaller than a normal serving, but the meat draped over the rice, I think it was just a smaller rice portion, which I’m fine with. The rolls were fine, except I didn’t care for the lobster roll. As one person mentioned, it was over fried… Very hard instead of lightly fried to add flavor and texture. I think the prices are reasonable, and for a brand new restaurant, I happily give them 4 stars. No one is perfect from day one! We will definitely return and I will update my review accordingly.

This place is incredible… It’s such a nice surprise when you walk in. The best atmosphere in a sushi restaurant I’ve seen. The staff is so friendly. The food is even better than what I mentioned already. We will definitely be back again! I recommend to everyone!!!

I had high hopes for this restaurant when it moved into a seemingly cursed spot near Sprayberry High School. Alas, those hopes were crushed tonight after visiting for my first and last time. We arrive around 7:30 to a half empty restaurant. We get seated and were ignored for 15 mins before our order was taken. I can understand some delay but the restaurant isn’t even packed. We finally get our order taken and the waiter brings our soup and salad to the table. The miso soup was like dirty dishwater and the house salad was your basic iceburg lettuce with a watery ginger dressing. Our hibachi arrives and once again I continue to be unimpressed. For the prices they charge I would expect better than mall food court quality cooking. Our last entrée arrives, the fire island special sushi roll. It was warm, the sushi was gritty and mush, and the overall taste was bland. Even the 15% off coupon didn’t soften the blow of some of the worst Japanese food I’ve had yet. Even RuSan’s is better than this place.

Delicious fresh sushi! The place wasn’t very busy but it should be. Great service, our orders arrived quickly and everything was good. Prices were quite reasonable as well. Glad to have Kumo in the neighborhood!

New restaurant in an area in need of some variety. We had steamed dumplings and tempura as appetizers. Both were good and the portions were good. The sushi dinner came with 8 pieces of nigiri and a six piece roll. I had the spicy tuna. The presentation was great, sushi too. It also came with miso soup and a salad. No beer or wine license yet but they will have one soon.

Awesome!!! Excellent food! People are very nice, and provided great service. Very beautiful place. I had steak and shrimp, and it was cooked to perfection. I ordered the sushi appetizer. This is some of the best sushi in Atlanta. I’ve already been back to have the sashimi lunch. It was spectacular. Great presentation. I will be back.

This Restaurant just opened this week. Excellent food! We tried the Chattanooga rolls, Summer rolls and the Volcano rolls. All excellent. We ordered the Hibachi Steak/shrimp combo with fried rice to go. It was very good as well. Service was polite and professional. Restaurant is nicely decorated. We will become regulars at Kumo!

A new restaurant opened walking distance from our home so we decided to take our family of 6 out to check it out. They failed miserably. Lets start with the service. We walked in and were greeted. We told them we had 6 people and they sat us down by combining 2 tables. The cups that were on the tables were previously used. There was lip markings on 2 and 3 of the glasses had beverages in them already. The napkins were already unrolled and used. The waitress then walked away as if she did not notice. We had to ask for new place settings. They gave us 3 new place settings. We had to ask them to replace the other 3 as we were unsure if they were clean or not. We also had to ask for new glasses to drink from. The waitress walked away and came back after about 7 minutes to ask us if we were ready to order. We had to ask for menus at this point in time. We asked for water with lemon and we were served with 6 glasses of water but only 3 lemon wedges. Maybe we were supposed to share. I then asked for a drink menu and the woman said she would be right back with it. I never got the drink menu. They did not bring out any sauce bowls for our maki rolls. We had to ask and when we did ask, they only brought out one. Now lets get to the food. The menu had some very delicious looking rolls. So we were excited to order. Me personally, I was left dissatisfied. The seaweed salad was fresh out of the pack. They did not do anything at all to add a personal touch. No garnish nor decoration. The rolls were bland. The eel had the texture but did not have the taste. The shrimp tempura was over-fried and hard. Not crispy but hard. I did however like the fact that this roll had fresh mango. It was ripe and tasty. That was the best part of my meal. My wife agreed that her rolls were bland as well. Maki rolls should be full of flavor. Three of my kids had the hibachi. The hibachi was served from the kitchen. Not in front of you. They all agreed that the rice(fried and steamed) had no taste. No salt, pepper or anything. They had to drown the rice in yum yum sauce. The strip steak was tough and the shrimp was just ok. Yet everyone agreed that the food was bland. I will not be returning
