I shopped Leiters for several years. However, it is a family-owned business, and when the father turned it over to his son, things went down hill very quickly. The father would provide one-on-one personal service, giving advice when asked to, which is what would be expected in a small specialized business such as this. The father was always polite and gave customers his best possible customer service. Moreover, he knew his repeat customers by name and knew their preferences. Problems started when the son began running the day-to-day operations at the store. The son is a millennial/gen x, and his poor attitude reflects the values of that generation. The son treated customers with a big box discount store attitude, more like customer no service. When asked for information or advice, the son would just blow off customers. I am not surprised to see that business traffic at the store has fallen off greatly. I will not be shopping there anymore. I am a dissatisfied former customer of Leiters.
