Since I’m about to move out of my apartment complex(who requires that the carpets be professionally cleaned before you move out or they fine you) and I saw a Groupon for $ 30 for a 3-room carpet cleaning, I snatched up the Groupon and called Omega to make an appointment. I made my appointment several days in advance for a Tuesday morning between the hours of 9am-11am. Well, Monday night at around 7−8pm I get a phone call from Omega saying they need to reschedule my appt because they have to have a guy come out with a portable machine since I’m on the 3rd floor of my apartment building. Fine. So we reschedule for 3−5pm instead of in the morning. I was told the technician would call about an hour before his arrival. Now, since I had an appointment from 3−5pm, I took that to mean that the entire service would be completed between those hours. My apartment is fairly small(a one bedroom), so that seemed reasonable. 4pm came. 4:30pm came. No call, no show. So I called Omega and asked what was up, only to be told that 3−5pm was the window in which the technician would show up. He still had 30 minutes to show up to be on time for the appointment. Hmm… okay, fine. 5pm came and went. 5:30 came and went. I called Omega again at 5:40 and was told that the technician was only 5 minutes away. Politely, I told the man on the phone that this was really becoming an inconvenience, as I had made dinner plans that I was now going to have to cancel. He was apologetic and said that the technician had been stuck in traffic. Fine. This is Atlanta, so I can believe that. The guy showed up around 5:55 — almost an hour late. It took him a while to carry all his equipment up to my apartment, plug everything in, etc. By the time he was finished his work, it was after 7pm(and needless to say my stomach was growling like an angry little bear awakening from hibernation). The technician who cleaned the carpets was very friendly and nice. As a young female, I felt totally comfortable having him in my apartment alone because he was relaxed and chatty. He was also apologetic for being so late. The service itself was good(my carpets definitely look better), but the whole rigamarole with scheduling, last-minute rescheduling, and having them be out by 7pm when my appt was for 3−5pm was just irritating.
