This location of Pike’s Nursery seems to be larger than most in the area, and consequently has a larger selection. I frequently come here, even though it is a further drive for me than other Pike’s Nurseries. I have noticed, though, that they do not always have staff around to assist with questions. On a recent visit, I didn’t have one staff member ask me if I needed assistance with anything. I was recently at the Johnson Ferry location, where the staff was quite helpful and visible. One good thing about this location that I always take advantage of is the sale they have on bulbs every November. I come in the week of Thanksgiving and prices are 70% off. That’s a real food discount, and November is not too late for planting bulbs. One thing I don’t like is that they clear out a lot of their inventory in November and replace it with cut Christmas trees. November is still a good month for planting in Atlanta, and it’s when I like to do most of my planting, so I wish they would keep the inventory around longer. If you come, though, in prime planting season, you should have a good choice of trees, shrubs, and flowers for your yard.
