The food is horrible! I can’t believe folks are on here saying the food was good, they must be the ones who can’t cook or just don’t know how soul food should taste! I got fried shrimp and it was so greasy I could’ve fried a dozen more with the grease off mine! I used a napkin to drain the grease off and it just SOAKED thru the napkins!!! The owner came out and was asking how the food was I sure wanted to say AWFUL the Mac and cheese was dry and Awful so was the collards! The muffin was even terrible! The owner saw me squeezing all that grease off the shrimp you’d think she’d have said OMG they didn’t drain that let me bring u some more but she acted as though she didn’t notice it! No doubt I’d never even think of going back.

Horrid!!! If you want oxtail soup over rice this is your place. If you want over cooked chewy catfish or dry fried chicken this is your place! The mac n cheese is hideous! The greens were terrible! The corn bread… Ewwww! The food here is cooked by younger folks who apparently are playing culinary school(behind the counter) on the public’s dollar. Overpriced, not memorable & Very unfulfilling! Do not eat here. Yes, the shopping plaza is nice however do not be misled. The manager has a VERY poor attitude and only cares about money going into the register. She need not worry about any of my dollar’s ever entering that register EVER again! Total Down grade… EPICFAIL!

OMG! I didn’t like this place at all. They servd me on cafeteria brown plates and cups. I ordered the 8 hot wing special and I received 6 big wings. When I asked the why, they said they made them bigger so they only gave 6 to take the place of the other 2! REALLY! I paid for 8! I’m over it! I will stick to the whole in the wall joints. Oh, and the Mack and Cheese was sooo mushy and yellow! I’ll pass!

I have rode by the place a few times and finally had a taste for some soul food so i stopped in. The entrance to the place was very pleasing to the eye. Great ambiance, clean and friendly courteous staff. I ordered fried chicken(made to order), collard greens, mac and cheese and some peach cobbler. So here is the rundown: Chicken-nice and hot but legs could have been bigger mac & cheese-good but could have been more thick greens-excellent cornbread-not sweet enough cobbler-great Overall the food and service is well worth a return trip and a 4 star rating.

Sweat Teas down the connector has a bit of competition! I went to Talk of the Town Soul Food for dinner. First impressions were good. The location is easy to spot, there’s ample parking out front and inside the restaurant is spotless; the bathroom was sparkly clean. This is a order, pay, then eat spot which I generally don’t like but it works at Talk of the Town. They’re not trying to pretend to be full service. I ordered the catfish dinner(2 nice size and delicious fillets made to order), the green beans(scrumptious), the black eye peas(pretty good) and a side of fried plantains(which were made to order and good as well). I had to resist the temptation to add a slice of red velvet, banana or carrot cake and I almost caved in and got the peach cobbler. I’m looking forward to going back to Talk of the Town for another round. This meal was good but it’s consistency that makes a place great.

I have been looking for a good soul food restaurant in my area. Talk of the Town has been open a few months, and I finally popped in for dinner. I ordered barbecue chicken, collard greens and mac ‘n’ cheese. The sides were great. The chicken was just okay, but I’d definitely go back. Their peach cobbler was delicious, and I’m pretty picky about my cobbler!

I’ve been here several times and enjoyed the food. While the service can be a bit slow(some menu items such as fried chicken are cooked to order), the wait is well worth it. I only wish they would accept phone orders to speed up the«to-go» process.
