If you are looking for a different hotel experience, this is a place to check out. The check in process starts at the bar in the Galley Restaurant. You check in there and they give you your key. We stayed in the Isaac Williams Room and it was very nice. Furnishings are a mix of old and new and the bed was very comfortable. The Common Room is a nice concept. They had chocolate milk, milk, orange juice and water in the refrigerator. Also available were pop tarts, a variety of cereals and a one cup coffee maker. We ate at The Galley(the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel). We had dinner there and the food was fantastic. We saw a concert at the Adelpia Music Hall, which is connected to the Galley Restaurant, while we were there and had a great time. One thing to keep in mind, if you are not attending the concert you will be able to hear the music in your hotel room. If you are looking for a quiet night, you may want to find out if there is a concert scheduled for that night. Another thing to keep in mind if you are a visitor here. There is no elevator and the 43 steps are STEEP. If you are not able to climb stairs easily, you should be prepared. If you are in Marietta, you should definately check out The Galley Restaurant, The Adelphia Music Hall, and the Hackett Hotel. It was a fun experience. If they had another music act I wanted to see, I would certainly return.

So, if you had told me before I stayed at this hotel that I would give it 5 stars, I wouldn’t have believed you. However, this provided an absolutely amazing experience for a recent bachelorette party. One of my dearest friends had her bachelorette here as she grew up in the area, and her sister(a total rockstar) had the foresight to book all of the rooms at the Hackett for our party. We stayed 2 girls to a room, and there were 5 rooms in all. There is a great common space where we did the bachelorette games… and such. The space was stocked with snacks, coffee, water, juice, milk, etc, and we brought a lot of our own stuff as well. It was just a lovely place, and it served our purposes perfectly. I don’t know how well it would work with other people… as the common area creates an intimate setting, but it would be the perfect setting for a family reunion, a girls weekend, etc.

This facility is a nice change from the cookie cutter hotel/motel you find in any city across America. Built in 1899 and upgraded this year, it has all of the amenities you could want. Flat screen TV, spacious bathroom, well appointed room with lots of history attached. When you get upstairs, you enter a common area with a fully stocked refrigerator, snacks and even a Keurig coffee maker. For a change of pace, do yourself a favor and stay here if you are in the area. If you crave a cocktail or something to eat, the Galley Restaurant is conveniently located downstairs. We found this hotel by accident and we are glad we did. Thanks Audrey for helping us out!
