Valenti’s, the best Italian restaurant in East Cobb and a gathering spot for locals, is closing, or so I am told. Not because business is bad. In fact, it has been quite busy. No, it is closing because the landlord, who owns the nearby Paper Mill Grill(which sucks) is forcing Valenti’s owner, a sweet Chinese man, to close so the landlord’s crappy restaurant can get more business. I for one will never spend a dime there.

Take a look at the pictures the food is prepared fresh and to order everything is made from scratch

Average is fair, and that’s what it was. It’s comfortable enough, quite yet with a spirited bar, but overall the experience wasn’t bad, just nothing memorable about it. I don’t prefer rolls soaked in Olive oil, but like to dip it myself. Straight up Italian places should have a nice basic dinner bread, Italian, for the customer. Service was okay, and friendly, but not extremely attentive. I think it okay here some«sometimes» if your near, but it wouldn’t be my «go to» Italian in the neighborhood.

Adequate, paint-by-numbers Italian-American fare. You can probably recite the menu from memory. Nothing inherently wrong with it, but a truly example of «meh».

Horrible service, awful food, rude staff, place is not clean. Do yourself a favor and eat down the street the other Italian in east Cobb is way better and the drinks are stronger and the staff is friendlier.

Never had such paste-like chicken piccata. Odd ambiance and poor service. East Cobb can do better.

Really nice family dinner on a Saturday night. Good staff, tasty food. Tough to find quality, traditional southern Italian places around here but this really checked all the boxes. Nice to have in the neighborhood and we’ll certainly be back!

Have eaten here four times and the food is ok, at best. On my last visit at 6:30 pm we found our conversation had to compete with the entertainment. Usually places that offer entertainment do so after the main dining hours have past but not so here. Service is good, but can be slow at times. Most items with sauce are grossly oversauced and I find the tomato sauce tastes like anything but tomatoes. Mostly sweet basil and oregano. East Cobb still needs a decent Italian restaurant.

Great place. The food here was absolutely delicious. We had the mussels and calamari to start off with. We did the family meals which were perfect in size to share. I will be coming back! Love it

Disappointing first visit. Ordered a few things over the phone and went to pick up. Had 2 beers at bar. Pleasant bar staff. One meal was chicken parm, but they neglected to put the chicken in my order. So just a side of spaghetti marinara, and no chicken. The receipt was right, they charged me for it. But no chicken. I called them when I got home, bartender checked they charged me for the chicken parm, offered for me to go back up there and give me a chicken parm breast,(which I declined) to do. But that was it. Disappointing first visit, doubt I will try again.

I want to love this place — I really do. Our friends gather at the bar, and there is beautiful outdoor seating when the weather is nice. However, my husband and I have eaten here twice and been disappointed both times. The first time I had grilled salmon with pesto. The fish was a little dry but the pesto was a bigger problem. Instead of being bright and fresh, it was a dull yellow green. I believe it had been cooked. We tried again last night, splitting an order of lasagna, which was fairly good. Salads and the bread are a big disappointment. When I order a Caesar salad, I want the green part of the romaine, not the white core. I don’t understand why an Italian restaurant wouldn’t serve Italian bread, but we were served some sort of flat bread with no garlic.

First time to dine here and we were very impressed with everything we ordered, service was very attentive and very large portions… Will definitely be back.

First off we love Italian food since many in our family cook Italian regularly. This was our first time to Valenti’s. This place was aweful! I ordered Spicy Sausage Pasta. It was actually made with some kind of asian sauce. Not a hint of anything Italian. Others in the party ordered Chopped Salad which was fine if you like chopped iceberg lettuce on a plate. We ordered a small pizza as an appetizer and specifically asked for the Mediterranean Pizza. The waiter said they no longer have this because they don’t purchase olives! What Italian restaurant doesn’t buy olives? Now the service, the waiter didn’t have a clue. When asked about a suggestion he said«I don’t know, I hear everything is good». We had to ask another waiter for bread and then another for olive oil for the bread. There are so many great Italian places in Marietta and certainly in Atlanta. Don’t bother with this one.

Had the veal marsala. The marsala sauce and pasta was perfect. However, the veal was tough and not prepared right. It also was a low quality meat and it was obvious biting through the veal that it wasn’t excellent. I got take out so I wasn’t able to go over the service, but their takeout service was solid.

We were coming home from vacation and stopped in here on the last leg of our journey to get a good meal. We were not disappointed. Sat out on the patio and overlooked the small lake and fountain. I had chicken piccata and it was a huge portion, great quality, and amazing flavors. Also the cannoli for dessert is a must have! :) Great service as well.

Abysmal service. It was truly awful. It took fifteen minutes to be seated although no one else was at the front. The manager(as we learned later) poured water and put down baskets of bread — no bread plates — but never acknowledged us or told us who our server would be. We were there well over 30 minutes before our orders were taken. It was over an hour before my wine arrived, despite my asking the waiter about it. It almost 90 minutes before food arrived. The check was wrong and took 30 minutes to be corrected. And instead of just crediting the overage, they credited the full amount and recharged the correct amount. Not a problem for me but could cause an issue for some using debit cards since it could take a few days for the credit to clear. I could have done without the creepy waiter touching my shoulder and telling me which side he was on — every single time. Please don’t touch me, strange man. I know where you are. I cannot imagine how they stay in business. The owner was there and seemed to be keeping the manager distracted from doing her job. The food was bland. The wine was warm. There was not a single caper on my chicken piccata. It’s odd because they were all very nice but just so very poor at providing any semblance of a pleasant dining experience.

We have been here numerous times and have noted the quality and service diminishing. Previously we have seen waiting for food in excess of an hour, this past visit was not as bad but an issue since we could not get our waitresses attention to the our issues. This past visit was the worst I have had their for service and quality of food. We had ordered pizza the crust was hard, raw on top, soaked in olive oil and it resulted in a teeth hurting Experience. The time it took to get the waitresses attention was way too long. Then she had to get the manager, another long duration of time. The manager then asked if we wanted something else so my wife ordered muscles. It came out quickly but was not serves with the normal bread that most places provide. Then the waitress was not to be found to address this need by the time she came back the muscles had been consumed, poor sauce had no bread to be soaked up by. The good item was the manager had comped the meal and drinks. Also to be fair I am not a fan of the menu and find the dishes lacking flavor and freshness. To sum it up it This place is not worth the effort to return to due to poor quality and slow service.

This place is a great family-style Italian joint. We had dinner here early-ish on a saturday evening and it was not crowded at all. The waiter(wish I could remember his name) was fantastic. My husband and I both got dishes for two. We figured we would split and take any leftovers home for the next day. I had a pasta in pink vodka sauce. He had a veal dish. Both were very good but the portions were slightly smaller than I expected to be for two people. I’m used to Italian restaurants where you can feast off a single serving of pasta for three days. We did still go home with leftovers, just not as much as I would have thought. The garlic bread is amazing. The waiter kept replenishing the basket and gave us a fresh batch to take home. Cute place, good location, good food, amazing waitstaff, decent prices. What’s not to like?

Dissapointing… I had hopes for this place. It had closed down and recently reopened under new management. So, I convinced my husband to take me there for my birthday dinner. The ambiance was OK. They had a piano player and the place looked clean. Also, our server was very attentive. The menu looked like it was created in the 70s. Pictures and everything. the kid’s menu was blatantly placed within the adult menu which made the place feel a little more tacky. We ordered the wedge salad which tastes just OK. Nothing to write home about. The biggest dissapointment was the main dish though. We got the Linguini with Frutti di Mare. The seafood feltt like it was previously frozen, especially the squid which was really chewy. The sauce was a pretty tasteless and watery and the portion for two people was pretty stingy. Of course, it was overpriced for what it was. For dessert, I ordered the cannoli and my husand ordered the tiramisu. According to the server, they were all homemade. This was probably the best part of the meal. I really enjoyed the cannoli and they were good portions. We could’ve shared a dessert. Again, I had really high hopes about this place being so close to my house, the location is really nice and considering that there are not too many place around. But given the choice again, I would probably go their neighbor, the Paper Mill Grill.

Could not be more impressed with this place!!! Let’s start with the atmosphere. We sat on the back deck, underneath white lights, overlooking a fountain in the pond. Music was perfect(Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra type stuff). Sun was setting, chairs were super comfortable. Inside, we noticed a lot of different seating options, large tables for 10 – 12, cozy tables for 2, kind of a «hang out» area with 6 chairs around a tiny table meant for drinks or apps. Bar looks great! The service was excellent, had bread and water on our table right away. Gave us enough time to look over the menu, very polite and accommodating. The food, OHMYGOSH. The free garlic bread was incredible, had chunks of garlic on top. We went through 2 baskets! The menu is family style, which I think is a unique idea for a restaurant. Most items are meant to serve 4 and are between $ 25-$ 35ish dollars. You are able to get half sizes, which my husband and I did. The waiter recommended choosing a meat dish and a pasta dish. We had a chicken, sausage, peppers, onions, and red sauce entrée as our meat, and a white sauce pasta with mussels, clams, and shrimp as our pasta. YUM. We both left full, and took home leftovers! The booze. We had a glass of wine each, for $ 6.50 a pop, which isn’t a bad price for a decent glass of wine! The same glass of wine at a restaurant in Smryna cost $ 12!!! We will definitely be back on Mondays, when they have«Buy the glass, get the bottle night». That’s right, for $ 6.50, we’d be drinking that entire bottle of wine! Total bill was under $ 50. We were thrilled, because similar sushi dates usually cost us $ 60, includes no free appetizer, and certainly no leftovers. We will definitely be back, especially on Mondays :)
