This park has my childhood written all over it! For one entire summer my siblings, cousins, and neighbors joined forces and walked to the park everyday until the sunset warning us it was time to head home. A lot has changed since then, the entire playground has been gutted and replaced with something new. In the heart of the neighborhood, there are activities going on at the park in their large baseball field throughout the year. Do you like sports? Festivals? They have both! A great park to relive your childhood! Although, make sure to use the restroom before you go.

Glorya Tate Park is not really a dog park, but is a park which allows leashed dogs. The great thing about this park is that it’s right off Highway 1. So if you are heading to or leaving Monterey, it’s easy to pull off the Reservation Road off ramp, turn east, drive one block, turn left and allow your dog to stretch their legs and take care of business. There is a gas station, a Denny’s and a couple of motels right there too. One cool thing is that the main part of the park is completely fenced in, which comes in handy if you happen to «accidently» let go of their leash. The fenced off part of the park is not always assessable because they do have youth soccer and baseball games there. There is still a small grassy area you can still walk your pet around. There is a small playground and sandbox for kids, as well as bathroom facilities. The park is open from dawn to dusk. On May 9th2009, the park, along with Marina State beach will be part of Marina’s Festival of Winds which includes kite flying, hang gliding and a bunch of stuff that is kid oriented. Food vendors will also be there.
