People, can we stop making duplicate business listings? I’m pretty sure this is the third one for MST… I have a more detailed review here: MST used to be a really good bus service, especially for the area. Now, thanks to budget cuts, it’s not. Service has been cut and fares have increased. Busses are more crowded, which normally I wouldn’t mind if the rides weren’t rocky and didn’t cause me to hold on for dear life when I’m in an aisle seat whenever it makes a turn. Plus, I had to deal with this almost every day. There are also a lot of people who are just plain rude, whether it be being loud or not sharing space with their fellow passengers. I’ve always thought of taking public transportation as a community activity, but it didn’t feel like that when I rode MST. However, MST’s busses are almost always clean(with the exception of the occasional mess and rare graffiti). There are also significantly less creepos that ride MST than other public transit services I’ve been on, so I’ve always felt safe riding MST. Plus, the bus drivers still manage to be friendly and polite, despite what they have to deal with(Monterey streets, loud passengers, crying babies, the like), so kudos to them. MST also has lines going straight to both MPC and CSUMB, and several stops at each school. CSUMB students also get to ride free with their ID card. MST also hits Monterey’s major areas, like the Del Monte Center(shopping!) and Cannery Row(the aquarium!), as well as downtown Carmel(a cutesy little area). In general MST is fine to take occasionally, but once you take it every day, it starts to get bothersome.
