Beautiful setting. Beautiful views. Just be aware that there is no air conditioning in the rooms, but it stays cool enough to leave the windows open. They do have fans in the room, so it’s not as bad as people think. I liked this place because it was a good getaway from the hustle and bustle of regular life. Sometimes it’s just nice to sit back, relax, and enjoy nature in it’s beauty. This is the place to do just that.

Beautiful quiet setting warm and friendly hosts. Beautiful breakfast made with love. July 4th Fireworks in Spruce Pine exceeded expectations. Great small town experience.

I landed upon the Alpine Inn by doing a quick google search for lodging in the Little Switzerland area. I submitted a request to receive more information about rooms and rates via their website and was promptly e-mailed with detailed info about availability. I decided to book a queen balcony room solely based on some of the photos I had seen online as well as the kind service I received when booking the room. When I arrived at the inn I was greeted by the two cheery owners who provided me with a brief tour of the inn, showing me the guest lounge where they sold drinks and snacks, as well as offering me games that I could take back to my room and a telescope for the incredible view the inn provides. The room was incredibly clean(and I am quite neurotic about cleanliness), featured a desk, a nice rocking chair, a queen bed, and small bathroom with stand-up shower. Although the inn was booked for the night, the guests were all quiet and respectful of each other. In the morning, they offer a sunrise breakfast on the balcony. The service, the view, and the room were all immaculate. I could not ask for more for a quiet mountain getaway. I will definitely be back.

This is one of my favorite places to stay along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western NC. Is it a 5-star resort with amenties? No. Does it have flatscreens, phone, pool, gym or air-conditioning? No. What it does have is unbelievable views, easy access to the BRP, hiking trails, great homemade breakfast, and friendly staff to boot. Oh. and it’s clean! If you’re looking for a get away from the hustle and bustle I would suggest staying at the Alpine Inn. I would be sure to ask for a room with a balcony though. The few rooms with windows only — don’t allow you to get the full experience of being nestled into the mountain top. As far as restaurants around that area — there is one place down the street in a small strip mall and of course the Switzerland Inn — that is the more mainstream hotel in the area.
