Friendly service, views of historic downtown Marion and deliciously crispy hash browns make Cindy’s a great choice for breakfast or brunch. I got the two egg, bacon, hash browns and biscuit breakfast plate. Eggs were done right, bacon was thick cut, and the freshly made biscuit was great with strawberry jam. Those hash browns stole the show, though — thin cut, browned to a crisp and a great complement to the easy over eggs. My companion got the BLT, which featured ripe tomatoes and generous slabs of thick cut bacon sandwiched between two pieces of toast. And yes, you can order it with those fantastic hash browns. My only minor beef was that they serve margarine pats and non dairy creamer. Why is it that restaurants in the country, closest to our dairy farms, seem the leat likely to serve real butter and cream? Maybe it’s just me, but I’d rather pay a little extra for the real stuff. Overall, though, I give Cindy’s a big thumbs up.
