While I have not been to the salon, Julie, the salon’s owner, has been doing my hair since 2008. I started going to her while I was in school at SIU. Now, I live in VA and I still travel back to have her do my hair. Julie is great at listening to what you have in mind, taking pictures of styles you bring in, and then improving on that so that you look your best. Unlike some stylists who can cut, but might not be good at color, Julie is awesome at both. She really uses the two to compliment each other. What might be a good cut otherwise, becomes a great cut with the right color treatment. I am really excited to travel back and sit in her chair in her new salon. AND — she is also a great make-​up artist. I have been in two weddings for which she did the make-​up. All of the girls looked fresh and gorgeous, but also like themselves. Julie has a great creative eye and is fantastic at executing not only her own vision, but translating what you, the client, might otherwise have a hard time articulating. The salon is also selling its brandname make-​up. I haven’t tried it, so I can’t comment on it. But if Julie is willing to put her name on it, then I will assume it is high quality product.
