Cottages At Spring House Farm

Absolutely five stars for Spring House Farm! Spent three nights and four days there mid-​August 2014. Was simply wonderful! Each cottage is COMPLETELY private with no evidence of anyone being nearby even though you’re just down a long road from the main house where the owners live. This was the best place we’ve ever stayed for «getting away». The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. There was a loaf of bread (delicious) and basket of eggs waiting for us when we arrived late. Was so nice to have those for the morning since we didn’t have time to shop the day before. Don’t trust what others say about distance in to Asheville… it’s an easy 30 minutes with traffic so day trips from this location are all easily accessible and don’t take much time. Was able to visit Asheville, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock and one of the wineries in the area all on this trip. Keep in mind that in Black Mountain almost everything is closed on Sunday so spend your day in Asheville on Sundays if you only have a short amount of time. Didn’t know that you could fly into Charlotte on Frontier Airlines for really cheap… would have done that to avoid the 11 hour car trip it took us to get there. It was WORTH it! Just loved this place and will definitely be back. Hate to give it five stars because we want to keep it all to ourselves but have to be honest, the cabin was glorious. VERY clean, huge king size bed, wonderful fireplace, a big picture window and sliding glass doors looking out at gorgeous trees surrounding it so even though it is a log cabin, it didn’t have a closed-​in dark feel. Rain the last morning we were there made it all the more special. If you come to this place, you’ll never want to leave. Already making plans to return! PS — stayed in the «Outrigger» cabin while there. Note: if you need internet, you’ll need to go down to the office where they have free wi-​fi. The cabins do not have internet available OR cell reception. This was not a deal breaker for us even though one of us needed to work during the trip, going to the office worked just fine! :)

Far exceeded our expectations. This place takes the star for being clean, so-​so private, fully stocked with everything you could think of and offering more than they promise on their web site!
