Crab Rangoon! I haven’t been here for a while, so as one review says it may have changed a bit since, but this is the only Chinese place I actually ‘like’. The crab rangoon is my favorite. I am not a huge fan of Chinese food in general, and I don’t eat rice, but anytime we are in Marion it is always a win for us to go here. My biggest complaint is the staff. I always feel awkward in there, they just don’t seem overly friendly. I have found this to be the case in all Chinese places I have been though, so maybe it’s more of a cultural thing. Still, great place even for a someone like me who typically doesn’t care for it.

I used to love House of Hunan. Since they remodeled the food isn’t the same. I don’t know if they hired a new chef or just changed the way they prepare things. Whatever it is I don’t like it. All the food tastes the same and the won ton soup, which was my favorite, isn’t made the way it used to be. The restaurant itself is very nice on the inside but that means nothing if the food is only so so.

Stopped here on our way back from Columbus. Picked it based on Unilocal review and we’re not disappointed. Sesame Chicken and Pork Chow Mein were very good with more than ample portions. Great food and great value!

House of Hunan is my favorite Chinese restaurant hands down. They set the bar for how I determine if any other Chinese food is good or not. To start, their Crab Rangoon is unmatched. It isn’t as sweet as many frozen pre-made Rangoons are. For an entrée I recommend their General Tso’s chicken(I personally get extra spicy) or their Beef Kung Pow. They have a large selection and will not disappoint.

House of Hunan continues to be the best sit-down Chinese restaurant in Marion. Vui is a family friend and always recommended the best off the menu for us to try. Ask for her when you dine here! The cashew chicken is my most favorite menu option(extra veggies and add spice!). The wonton soup is superior to any I’ve tried at other Chinese restaurants. Look for the pink building off of Delaware Ave and you’re guaranteed to have a great meal!

the wife is from Marion originally, and our first date was here. We live in Mansfield now, and none of the Chinese restaurants in this bigger town stack up. We always go back to House of Hunan when we want real Chinese. Someone mentioned that the food isn’t as good, I don’t sense any difference, nor does my wife, so I really have no idea what they’re talking about. There simply IS no other Chinese restaurant within a 50 mile radius!

We ave been to house of Hunan multiple times. My wife loves it and the kids like the beef with Chinese vegetables. Tonight, the food was exceptional. My wife asked for light garlic on her general tso’s and no msg and it was absolutely perfect. I had the Hunan beef which had excellent flavor and was spicier than normal which made it great! The kids actually devoured the fried rice, which is unusual. Overall, we had an excellent experience tonight and would recommend HOH to anyone.

I NOLONGER to recommend it to anyone as being the best in Marion area. Don’t waste your money, you might as well go to the cheapest Chinese restaurant in Marion and it would probably be better food. I know quality Chinese food and this place is now awful. I even ask if they were under new ownership and they must know something is up because he ask what was wrong after i asked. I mention the food had changed for the worse and he replied they now have a new cook. The excellent waitress verified this. I won’t be going back 12/04/2013 Now it’s marysville or columbus for the quality Chinese food that i prefer. Sogo Asian Bistro /Grove City /the furthest from Marion but my favorite Hunan House /Columbus China Dynasty /Columbus Jerry’s House Of Hunan /Marysville

Ok. I have to admit that I went back here this week for lunch with some high school friends. I was really reluctant but it’s where they wanted to go. When I was here 3 months ago, I was definitely not impressed but this time it was WONDERFUL!!! It was just like I remembered from years ago. Sooo damn good. I got pot stickers, which were really good, and then Hunan Chicken. Yummy yummy yummy. Now I can’t wait to go back.

I don’t recommend this place. It was unappetizing to me. The menu said spicy garlic scallops, what I got was sweet and had no other flavors. We ordered four different meals altogether and none of us were thrilled. The egg rolls were probably one of my least favorite. Awful flavor. There wonton soup is pretty good. The cashier/hostess was extremely RUDE. I stood at the counter for 5mins and before I was done paying she yelled around me «NEXT!!!». Super expensive for such a bad time. Not happy.

Wonderful food! Won ton soup is superb. Lunch, dinner and take out are all delicious. Love to eat in the restaurant… their staff is so helpful… they will gladly make substitutions of veggies or tone down the spice for me. Would recommend almost anything on the menu! Sooo tasty!

Great food and service. I agree with the others that say this is the best chinese food in Marion. The wait usually is not very long. The lettuce wraps are delicious. I would suggest making reservations if you want to go around lunch time because this place can get pretty busy.

When I was in high school in Marion, I used to leave during lunch and get a General Tso’s Chicken lunch special at House of Hunan. At the time it was $ 4.95 and it was the best lunch in town.
