Food was not as good as I expected — the biscuits and gravy were OK — the sausage did not taste good at all. It was more of a greasy spoon than I was expecting it to be. Was expecting more of a mom-and-pop little bit better for food in much better environment. The environment left a lot to be desired — I felt like I was in a biker bar, there were kids in the restaurant in at least two waitresses carried on and dropped expletives openly in public– It was disappointing in that regard.

Very cute and friendly restaurant. We came from out of town and it was a stop along the way. Highly recommend it

I’ve been coming here since high school! It’s so great that you can’t smoke in here anymore, that was my only complaint back in the day. The food is pretty cheap and the portions are great. I think parking can be an issue sometime if it’s busy inside but it’s Marion so you can find some around the corner even if it’s not in the parking lot. I do enjoy J&L. I’ll be back for sure whenever I’m visiting Marion.

Food is really good and the waitresses are very friendly. Not an expensive place to eat which is also very nice in today’s economy… Never had any complaints :-)

Great place to have breakfast. Their Biscuit’s & Gravy is the best in east central Indiana. Prices are so low you have to make up the cost by leaving a decent tip. Food served hot and quick. Waitresses are great also.

Best value when it comes to food. The place has somewhat of the classic breakfast restaurant feel– don’t come expecting a 5 star diner. you will hate it, but if you want a good, and cheap breakfast, I suggest it!

One of the best places to eat breakfast on earth seriously. When you walk in it always feels like a hang out for«the good old boys.» The food always comes out pretty quick. They used to smoke in there & I’m sure a few ashes from the cooks cig is what made my omelets so tasty, however they don’t allow smoking now. It was worth the potential lunch cancer because the food is just that good. I’m serious. Some of the jocks would skip school & eat here if this is any indication.

This place is somewhere friends and I go on a regular basis. It’s a smoking restaurant and the people working there look a little sketchy, but I must say for $ 5.00 you can get an extremely good breakfast. Also on another note, the tenderloins here are giant.

Love the food but always packed full, small place with small tables for a big guy, expect to rub elbows

If you love the smell of bacon grease, tobacco and coffee… this is the place to be every morning. If you don’t enjoy these olfactory sensations… you’re probably in the wrong place for breakfast. Service is beyond excellent, coffee is bottomless and the food is reminiscent of what your mom made if you’re over 45 years old. Don’t expect to be treated like a prima donna, just good breakfast and lunch. Take time to try the hash browns, omelets to order and good flap jacks. Enjoy!
