Friendly service. Good pizza. Really nice place. Love the thin crust. Clean bathrooms. Everything is great!

I’m giving a 3 star review due to the level of service I typically receive. I’ve had many good meals here, but the service usually leaves more to be desired. Most servers I’ve had are not very attentive or friendly for that matter. There was one server in particular that I used to frequently be seated with, and he was awful. I almost stopped dining in because of this, but the past few times I’ve been in, I haven’t seen him around. The food is better than any chain restaurant in Marion in my opinion so I keep coming back. I just wish there was more of a focus on customer service.

The Saluki Special is my new favorite pizza. My brother introduced me to this place. Ready to have another ASAP.

These folks take reservations, take out and almost everything else. We live 20 minutes away so we called to order a pizza ahead to receive«I am not allowed to do that anymore». Oh, because one or more others have done you wrong perhaps we are tossed in that group too? Last time we were there it took a long time to get our food despite that we were one of about 4 people there. We are going to try one more time. Hope they figure it out or close.

My boyfriend and I stopped in tonight on our road trip back to Chicago to get some good pizza. We ordered a large Onion/Green Pepper pizza with Zachary who was nothing but delightful. The pizza was ready in a timely manor and we were ready to leave. When we got to our car we opened up the box and it didn’t appear to be what we ordered. There was olive on it and what looked like sausage. No big deal, it happens. So I walked back in and spoke with Zachary again who was very helpful in asking co-workers where the problem may have occurred. Again, not a big deal at this point. When they took it back another co-worker by the name of Pang grabbed the pizza to get to the bottom of it. He then shouted from the back of the kitchen, «what exactly did you order?» in a very aggressive tone. I replied onions and green pepper to which he said, «That’s what this is.» And tossed the pizza box back on the counter and walked away. I mentioned to Zachary that it was a bit rude of Pang, to which Zachary stopped Pang and consulted the matter. Pang then yelled aggressively, «Sorry!» Then walked away again. I walked out with the same pizza that I had before with a terrible feeling that I was in the wrong. The pizza tastes fine. Whatever. It was olive, not sausage so I figured out I could eat it… we are vegetarians. Customer Service was both extremely good and extremely bad. As a person who has worked in the serving industry for a long time, I feel that Mackie’s would do much better with employees like Zachary. As a representative of Mackie’s, Pang represented the company very poorly and left a bad taste in my mouth. Again, pizza was good. Questionable employee. Maybe he was just having a bad night.

Passing through Marion on our trip and was craving pizza after several days of thanksgiving food and leftovers. REALLY good thin crust pizza with an authentic flavor. We got the delivery boy’s pizza which includes banana peppers(yum!). The Italian salad was also very good. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because we ordered for delivery to hotel and the items were a bit cold, but still tasted ahhhhmazing! Highly recommend.

Had pizza for late lunch. The Saluki with green olives and a crunchy thin crust is delicious! Ordered a greek salad and it was different than previously ordered. It was just ok. Payton was our waiter, he did a good job.

Ate here last night for supper. This was my first visit to the Marion Mackies. The exterior looks neat and new. The interior was large and inviting. It appeared to be a very nice sit down restaurant. It’s a much different atmosphere than the Harrisburg location and that’s not a bad thing. The service was good and staff was friendly. We went close to closing time so there weren’t many people there. Our food came out quick and was prepared well. Our pizza was good and was decently priced. Overall it was a great trip!

I reluctantly visited Mackie’s when my cousin wanted to have lunch there. I usually avoid pizza, unless I’m in Chicago. However, after my first visit to Mackie’s, I became a fan. I’ve been back several times and there’s one thing on the menu that I consistently crave. The Saluki Special pizza. Try it. Order it as is with the apples. Trust me. You won’t be disappointed. Pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, onion, Italian green peppers, bacon, green olives, bell pepper, mushrooms and apples. It’s a savory flavor explosion with a touch of sweet courtesy of the apple. I know it sounds weird. But apples on pizza is brilliantly delicious.

The person who set me at my table was not the most friendly, the waiter however was awesome. I had the lunch pizza and salad, very good and fair priced. I can not vouch for anything else because I only ate here the one time. I would go back for sure.

Ordered a deep dish pizza with peppercini, pepperoni, and onion. Beware, the deep dish is nothing more than a thick crust… quite the disappointment. The sauce they use is sweet… very sweet, like brown sugar base with some tomatoes in it. Finally, I got the bill for a 10″ thick crust pizza in the food capital of the world… Marion, IL… paid $ 17.40 before tip. Very disappointing.

Had lunch here while in town for work. Thin crust pizza was above average. Pepperoni was flavorful and tried the BLT pizza which was excellent. Great Italian and Greek side salads as well. Great value! Haven’t paid under $ 9 for that much food in quite a while.

Pizza was okay. Thin crust and lots of seasoning on it. The cheese bread is okay… the sauce for it tasted funny. I do not believe it was pizza sauce or marinara sauce. Nothing more to say about the pizza. The staff was nice and tentative. If you plan on having special events here, it’s a good place to have it!

Had my rehearsal dinner here last week, the room was very nice, closed off all to ourselves perfect for hollering at people across the room but the good ends there. We had pop, salad, breadsticks and assortments of pizza. The salad was fine the actual breadsticks were good but the dipping sauce was disgusting. I say it was too tomato-y. Reminded me more of a spaghetti sauce than pizza Then the pizza. Too thin of a crust and practically nothing on it. Overall for the rehearsal dinner it was fine. We fed 30 people for less than $ 300 but it will be a restaurant I will never go back to

Good & tasty thin crust pizza. Their Gyro was surprisingly good as well. The waiter was very polite and attentive. Bottled beer & Pepsi products to wash it down. A good meal overall. PS trucker apparently can park at the Sam’s and walk over.

Honestly, for the price, throw some sauce and toppings on the sheet of paper you call a crust. This didn’t taste as bad as Imos pizza, but was a huge disappointment and extremely overpriced for what you get! Someone is ripping off the locals with this stuff.

I came in on a weekday evening and was by myself. They have a couple of TVs and the host seated me in front of one of them. Very thoughtful. It was a bit late and they were not very busy. I ordered a salad and a thin crust pizza. I can’t really tell you much about the salad because all I can remember is that brief period of heaven I was in while I was eating my pizza. It was a thin crust pepperoni, mushroom and green olive pizza. It was beyond delicious. Probably in my top 10. It was well seasoned and just the right amount of sauce. The cheese was perfect. My server was great. He was very friendly and kept checking on me and brought me nice, extra cold beer when I needed it. I ordered a medium and that is way too much for one person. I felt like Jabba the Hutt when I left the place because I kept taking one more piece. The atmosphere is kind of modern/homey. There are a couple of nice fireplaces that add to the atmosphere. The prices may be a bit higher than most pizza places but you are getting the best. What a pleasant surprise for a lonely business traveler!
