Good Midwestern family fun, worth going especially if you have young children. There’s plenty of food booths to visit, a battle reenactment and lots of folks dressed in old-timey clothing. You can visit booths that sell pottery, candy, toys, coffee, honey, clothes, popcorn, animal pelts, wooden kitchen utensils, and lots more. Did I mention the food? A few of the longtime vendors haven’t been there this year or last, but there’s still plenty of delicious eats to be found. The ribeye sandwich is a must-have and the pork chops are popular too. Great kettle corn booth. FYI, very limited entrée options if you don’t eat red meat(as you might expect at such a festival). Point your GPS to Jalopa, IN and follow the 1812 signs since Unilocal refuses to list the correct address(as of the time of this review). TIP: Bring cash. I don’t think any of the booths do credit cards.
