Great food! I have ate there a couple time both for breakfast and lunch and it is always really good. The only downfall is they have a limited selection but what they make is delicious. I would recommend the French dip and the potato soup for lunch or the eggs Benedict for breakfast. The staff is super friendly even though I always come with a big party of about 9. This is definitely the place to stop if you are in the area and want breakfast or lunch. Also the restaurant is in an old bank that they kept basically the same. You can reserve the vault for a private lunch even.

Hidden little gem 2 miles off route 57. Driving from Memphis home to Chicago, looking for a breakfast/lunch spot. Don’t let the two miles stop you, it only takes 4 minutes to get there. Right on a quaint square located in an old bank. Owner was super sweet and gave us the history of the building, can even walk inside the old vault. My husband and boys enjoyed huge choc chip pancakes and I had a nice fresh chicken Cesar wrap. Highly recommend!

Inexpensive and tasty. Pretty standard offerings so don’t look for fancy brunch fare. We both had eggs, meat, and pancakes which were perfect and fluffy. Loved the ambiance given its actually located in an old bank with the old vault still in tact. We went a few days before Christmas and they even had a Santa by the door for the kids(or adults in our case) to chat with. Service was friendly and fast. It’s clear that a lot of locals come here frequently.

Came here today for some breakfast, they didn’t update their Facebook page, website or anything with their Columbus Day hours. There was a piece of paper taped to the front door with the hours posted. If this is how they run their business on the outside, what other corners are being cut elsewhere? BAD management, small-town mentality, especially when businesses like these thrive on tourists who come DURINGHOLIDAYWEEKENDS.

I’m a little torn on this one. On the one hand, it’s a cool-looking place! A converted, old-style bank, complete with vault and combination lock vault door! The accoustics were poor, as the place echoed like a bell, but in a funny way that added to the ambiance. And the delightful, blond waitress was very professional. She knew the food. She knew front end service. She was just fine. Which brings me to the food. I almost never complain about a recipe, unless it’s a standard, like a hamburger, and it’s done ridiculously. That said… The reuben sandwich was pretty darned good! Not the best I’d had but I’d come back for another. But the next time, my wife and I had Eggs Benedict and Chick Pot Pie. And that we need to discuss. The vault’s kitchen refuses to cook rare hamburgers because of health risks. Personally, I’m willing to face the danger, but I get it. So why then would they serve the previously cooked, frozen, then apparenly nuked Chicken Pot Pie with the middle still cold and wet? I mean — it was RIGHT in the temperature zone for a really nifty bacterial culture. I sent it back and this was corrected, but even hot, it was soggy, made with canned vegetables, and without even a vestige of soul. But the Eggs Benedict were worse. The problem here was a pre-made and purchased in bulk hollandaise sauce, which was vile, bring to mind something industrial. Singularly the worst I’ve ever had. The rest of the ingredients in this easy-to-make, hard-to-screw-up dish were just fine. Decent quality as befits the price range of this restaurant. No noted lack of freshness. So what’s this all mean? This shrieks of a front end run well by one or two wait staff(maybe not enough but the times I was there weren’t crowded), who are being accidentally torpedoed by what appears to be a well-meaning but inexperienced back. There’s no excuse to serve a a dish that should be hot but isn’t. There’s no excuse for that weird, toxic-avenger hollandaise. Every kitchen in the world needs to practice QC on what they fire out. This one should have. And if they do that, they may well be on to a good thing. I wish them well and hope they fix this. But it won’t happen on my dime.

Very good for breakfast. I wasn’t impressed with the one time I had lunch there, and neither was my mom. However, I’ve eaten breakfast here a few times and it’s very good. Reasonably priced and good portions. Servers and owner are friendly. The restaurant is in an old bank building, hence the name. I believe there’s actually a table in the old bank vault so you can eat in there if you choose.

Very interesting place. Café inside an old bank, vault and all. Went for breakfast all was good. Friendly staff, portions were nice size. Had scrambled eggs, bacon, and waffle combo. Added french toast on Hawaiian bread, greatness. They have 10in pancakes avaliable. Great place and highly recommend.

Cracker Barrel, or something new, different, a change… wouldn’t be a mistake to try this place out. Unique restaurant concept. Great food and service! Try out the omelet, french toast and pancakes… that’s what we did. :)

Solid, well cooked breakfast food(they also do lunch). Maybe nothing fancy but what you do get is well prepared, solid fare. We had the two eggs with bacon and fried potatoes; I had the biscuits and my husband had french toast. All home cooked, simple and delicious. Nice staff and definitely looked like a local favorite. No espresso drinks, not that I expected it, but plenty of coffee and service with a smile.

After long day/night of drinking at the Eric Church concert in Marion(June 2015), my wife and I were in need of a good recovery breakfast before our 4 hour drive home. Luckily, I had done my Unilocal homework before the trip and bookmarked the vault café. We arrived about 9:30am on Father’s Day and only had a 10 minute wait, so things were off to a good start. Our waitress said the Hawaiian bread French toast was a favorite of the locals, but my heart led me to the«10 inch hotcake». Luckily my wife went with the toast so we got to see it all. The pancake was easily in my top 3 of all time, with serious contention for 1st place. Combine the food quality with the outstanding service and extremely reasonable prices… If this wasn’t a 4 hour drive from home, I’d be a regular. If you are nearby and are at least a little hungry, give them a try. You’ll be happy you did.

Heading back to the Chicago area and decided to check out Marion in hopes of getting a good lunch. And we did. Cute, open restaurant that used to be a bank. I got the Rueben special with potato salad. The Reuben was great, very flavorful on marble rye. The potato salad was homemade. The portion sizes were just right. Nice server too. Get there before 2:00 though, only a breakfast and lunch restaurant.

Very friendly staff. The food is not bad… but nothing to write home about. I wish they had a little more variety in the menu.

We were traveling through and decided take a few mile detour to stop by the Vault Café based on other reviews. It is a great find! One of the best Rueben sandwiches we’ve ever had(it was a special off the day). The wrap had nice crisp lettuce. Bacon was cooked perfectly. Service was excellent and prices more than fair. Would love to stop again to try the biscuits and gravy.

If you are in this area this is a must stop. We stayed overnight nearby and came here for breakfast. The 10″ pancake is enough to share for 2. The omelet was great. The bacon was cooked just perfect. Reasonable prices.

Stopped here on the way home from Thanksgiving and so glad we did. Great place with the friendliest owner! The café is in an old bank building the you can walk into the vault which the kids love! Breakfast/lunch place with food as you’d expect but very good service. You feel like you are really helping a local business owner and encouraging an older part of town’s revitalization. If you are close, you NEED to visit!

This place was pretty cool inside… It used to be an actual bank. I had the cheese soup and it went well with my Cobb salad. My father in law raved about the potato salad that came with his sandwich. The man in charge was very friendly.

Better breakfast than lunch, but I am very pleased with the eggs Benedict and the French toast. The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful and architecturally stunning for this area. Worth visiting just to look in the old bank vault.
