Trust me when I say… stop at McDonalds… it will be better! We stopped the other day, on our way back North, on the recommendation from the lady at the Welcome Center. She RAVED about this place and a local Steak house… after walking out at the Steak House(that review will come later)…we took her recommendation and went here! Ordered 2 Brisket platters with beans, coleslaw and fries. It was plain GROSS! The cashier wasn’t able to give us a receipt since she said the machine was broken… and used a calculator to ring up our order, $ 23 later for 2 people, didn’t get our money’s worth at all! Quality of food: Cold, tasteless, and I have had better microwave dinners! Meat was not smoked, but more of a processed pressed type… it was tuff and tasted like it had been boiled! beans were bitter and had chicken in them… and the coleslaw was nothing more than just mustard flavored cabbage and onions. Fries: ICECOLD and old. Maybe I am picky or the other reviewers aren’t…but I have had hospital food that was better. Glad I won’t be returning to this dump.

Perfect Burgers with salty crunchy fries just like I like warm and fresh they also have good rib sandwiches I like to order Cole slaw on the top of mine My GF and I love some Top’s food definitely a fan. And they do take a little while to get the food out to us when we get it through the drive thru but hey, that’s just showing that they are making the food good and fresh and not just warming up a patty in the microwave.

Good smokey Bar B Q at the drive-up. I like the sauce and got fries to top off the meal. All around typical Bar B Q place. Good service

Got the brisket, and I have to say for being an hour before they closed I was expecting cold meat. but NO!!! The most tender brisket I’ve tasted yet, sauce is amazing, french fries are crisp and fresh, baked beans look home make(onions and meat in them) I have to say this little place is big on taste

The pork shoulder sandwich is possibly one of the best bbq I’ve ever had! Restaurant is very quiet and dead on the inside but I would recommend the food for sure!

We made the mistake of stopping here for dinner as we drove through West Memphis(en route to St. Louis). I say«mistake» because of 3 things: a) the meat lacked flavor(I mean, any flavor); b) the meat was dry(the brisket in particular had the consistency of styrofoam); and c) the meat was very tough – almost like it had been microwaved. I just don’t understand how places like this remain in business. I rate Tops Bar-B-Q two stars for their clean bathrooms and good baked beans. That’s it.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times in my travels. Mostly because I stopped here because it marked the halfway point of my journey and I wanted BBQ. The service was pretty good. The speed of my order was pretty quick. Also the people working behind the counter were nice. So no complaints about the service. The food however was a different story. The first time I came here I tried the brisket. It was tough and seemed like it hadn’t been cooked long enough. The second time I came here I tried the pulled pork. The pulled pork was rather bland, lacking any seasoning or anything. I will admit the ribs here are decent but that’s about it for the meats. They do have good bbq sauce. The sides were good, I had potato salad and baked beans both times I came here. I honestly thought that was the best thing on the menu. This place is a run of the mill fast food bbq joint so don’t expect nothing too fancy. One great feature about this place is the fact you can buy a bag of ice for 99¢. In short this place this place has excellent side dishes, but the BBQ is rather mediocre.

Absolutely the worst BBQ we have had! Traveling back to Chicago, we thought we would try some good southern BBQ. After reading most reviews on Unilocal,we decided on Tops. We wasted $ 24 on the sampler and the pulled pork plate. The meat was dry, reheated, and the sauce(I had to ask for) was the worst. The beans were cheap, tasteless, and disappointing. The coleslaw was poorly made. I felt like there was no pride or care for the quality of this food. Didn’t even want to eat the rest despite being really hungry. Unless a restaurant is busy, I’ve learned my lesson here at Tops… Don’t waste your money or time !

Do yourself a favor and get the chopped pork sandwich and a sweet tea. Tops is located super conveniently off of Exit 10 on the interstate, and is a great BBQ stop off for travellers heading through Memphis. The locals(I grew up in Marion) also get their BBQ here. The Tops chopped pork sandwich is solid– it is has that great smokey, juicy pork that you expect from Memphis-area BBQ. They put a standard mayo-smoked cold coleslaw on top. Recommend including a side of beans and a sweet tea. Haven’t tried their ribs, but have heard town rumors that the chopped pork is really the best. Tops has a drive through, seating area, and catering business. They also sell party packs, so it is easy to pick up the fixins for a BBQ family dinner at home.

Stopped by on way to illinois. Had the pork sandwich and the cheeseburger and fries. The pork sandwich was very good(and we are from Texas, so we kinda know good bbq) and the burgers were excellent. Glad to see they use the crinkly fries. The bbq sauce was decent. Only thing was the restaurant was cold and the food left too long on table got cold. We would stop by again on the way back to Texas.

If your driving through town and want some good inexpensive BBQ Tops is great. Stick with the chopped shoulder sandwich. I like the hot sauce but both are good. Beans are good. The burgers are fresh cooked and good if you aren’t in the mood for BBQ.

Worst Ribs ever! Not smoked. Fatty and seemingly oven cooked. Virtually flavorless; they might have been steamed or boiled. Gross. Beans were almost as bland. Sauce was an odd red color and vinegar based. Staff were very friendly and courteous, but I would not choose to return here again.

We stopped here while driving cross country. It was just okay. Servings were adequate, price average, atmosphere definitely no frills, counter service only, but a large parking lot and easy location. We had just eaten at Hooks BBQ in Alabama so we were spoiled with very high expectations. We were disappointed. The women cashier was friendly and was working hard, cleaning and stocking when there were no customers to wait on. I wish I had gotten her name as she deserves a personal compliment.

Found Tops on our long drive home from the Beach. Nice clean place — no frills — very good BBQ

Found Tops BBQ while driving thru the area. Very good selection of barbecue items! Chose the pork shoulder plate and it did not disappoint. Generous portions of shredded pork with choice of sides and a drink for under $ 8. Hubby got the 1⁄3 slab rib plate and was pleased as well! Tip: get the hot sauce for some extra kick to your meal!

Passing through one Saturday, found this place at just the right time. Asked if the brisket sandwich was worth the extra cost; server guaranteed that it is. I agree; it was mighty fine. Just happened to be heading the other way the following Saturday and just the right time. Went for the pork sandwich — and it was mighty fine, too. If I see another Tops somewhere, I wouldn’t be surprised if it just happens to be at just hte right time.

There we were, driving our way out of the South, lamenting having somehow missed eating BBQ and just in the nick of time, the sign for Tops BBQ appeared! It’s actually a pretty decent BBQ place. Not much selection of sauces(just hot and mild). We ordered brisket, pork shoulder and a slab of ribs between four people and were very well fed for only about $ 20, including a couple of sides. The ribs were the standout, with brisket in second and the pork shoulder well behind in third. The friendly staff was patient and helpful. If you’re looking for the best BBQ in Arkansas, this probably isn’t your best bet. But if you happen to be on I40 and want a good, solid plate if BBQ, Tops is definitely worth a stop.

The pork and brisket are excellent! They also serve hamburgers but if you’re in a bbq joint ordering a burger, you’re barking up the wrong tree, Jack!
