Well where do I start! We just got done taking my In laws to Yosemite and needed a break and a beer. We like micro brewery’s so we decided to check out Yosemite brewery. My in laws loved it. My father in law hit it off with Mike who made him feel at home not only that he loved the beer. which is not normal lol. Mike was not only a great brew master but a great wine maker. Thank you Mike for the great experience we loved it!

Stopped by on our way to Pinecrest to sample some of the local brews and really enjoyed it. We each had a glass of the Peanut Butter Stout, by which we were pleasantly surprised — rich, but not heavy with a smooth finish and notes of oak and peanut butter as you swallow. The owner wasn’t there before we left, but we enjoyed a chat with his wife and a few of the locals. Very friendly people, very easy going place decked out largely with Dolphins mementos that we’ll definitely be stopping by again.

Solid craft brews. Liked the Old Pale Face Ale and Peanut Butter Stout. The owner /brewer was very nice and it’s a good place to go for live music.

The friendliest brew pub west of the Mississippi! Mike is a huge Dolphin fan so we hit it off famously but it was the porter that made my night. Face and I had a long day of sightseeing from Carmel all the way to Yosemite Valley and somehow we ended down stairs at Yosemite Ale Works. Noticed a bunch of Dolphins jerseys on the wall and quickly found out that Mike is just as passionate about his favorite football team as he is about his beers. Pro tip– if you’re thirsty for a beer and a jets fan, best keep that to yourself

We went there with my wife and her friends for her bday. Mike was really nice and gave us a fun time. I’m sure it will be even better when he’s done with the new place downstairs.

Stopped by with my son to refill the growler after a long drive from LA, found Mike manning the beer and Tori(wo)manning the wine. My first time since they opened the wine shop in front a couple of weeks ago. Good music, much more room to sit down and take a load off. Got our usual two bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon from Tori for the wife, a growler of Bear Cub IPA from Mike for son and myself, and we both enjoyed the beer tasting.

This place was by far our favorite tasting experience in the Yosemite area. After a wonderful day in Yosemite Valley, we wanted to do a little beer tasting before dinner so we headed over to Yosemite Ale Werks. We ended up having so much fun talking and laughing with Mike that we got out too late to go to the restaurant we’d been planning on and had dinner from Subway. Totally worth it. Mike’s beers were good, his wines were excellent and SO reasonably priced, and he was so friendly and open that by the end of our time there(which ended up being close to 2 hours because we were having such a good time!!) we felt like we were locals just stopping by to grab a drink with a friend at the end of the day. We ended up buying a case of his rose(which was a delicious, not-too-sweet blend of sangiovese and viognier) and almost a case worth of all his other wines as well. Not to mention a Coors light Christmas ornament for my brother(score!) and a couple tasting glasses thrown in for free! Mike, we loved you, we loved your casual and eclectic tasting room, and we might come back to Mariposa just to see you again — you were that awesome. And yeah I guess while we’re there we might as well check out Yosemite too. ;)

My boyfriend and I were«window shopping» and trying to select a cool bar to drink. We heard a guitar playing from somewhere and I stated I want to go there. We walked up a decorative staircase and walked into Yosemite Ale Werks. We were greeted by Mike Hall. His personality and friendliness were steller which is rare in Boston where I used to live and my boyfriend still lives there. Mike makes all the beers, and actually makes wine too but we were interested in tasting his beer. I am more a wine girl but wanted to make my boyfriend happy and not complicate things. I really loved the body and taste of the 5 or 6 different beer styles. I really loved how his bar illuminated with the memorabilia on the walls of the bar and Mike told us the background of each piece. Mike was so knowledgeable about the whole beer making process. I was happy but selfish that no one else came up the stairs to taste because my boyfriend and I were beer tasting, talking to Mike like we were good friends and had not seen him in years. If you want to try exceptional beer or wine, although did not taste the wine in a very cool atmosphere, Yosemite Ale Werks is a very distinguished place. I must say when we returned home, I asked my boyfriend what his favorite memory/place he visited since we traveled to Yosemite Park, Joshua Tree, up the coast on 101 to Healdsburg, CA. He responded Mariposa and finding Yosemite Ale Werks and hanging out with Mike Hall tasting his beers. I did agree with him. Unfortunately we could never duplicate that interaction but Mike we will definitely be back! Cheers to great beer! Wish you success, and continued happiness! Lori and Dave I was the girl with the camera who would not stop taking photos!
