So this weekend was a «try out the local stuff» weekend rather than schlepping into Glastonbury/colchester. We stuck with a tried and true breakfast staple– bacon egg and cheese on a hard roll and home fries. Though they had a few swanky looking omelettes and benedicts, we got it to go so we wanted portable. HUGE sandwiches and they were very good! Home fries were crispy and well seasoned. We definitely will be back to try out some of the other menu items when we can stay for a bit :)

A party of five on a Saturday afternoon, roughly 12:45. Marlborough Pizza it is. The place has only two waitresses on staff and only two other parties, both small in quantity. My group sits in one of the largest booths, where we were instructed to sit. After 13 minutes of no drinks or even acknowledgement of presence since being seated by the wait staff, my group got up and left. The waitress asked us on our way out if we were leaving because of lack of service, to which we replied yes. She told us that they’d be right over if we returned to our seats. No thanks. Because of this, I have nothing to say about the food, but plenty to say about service. Now, let me close with a classic Unilocal ending phrase: never again.

Excellent food consistently with big portions and fair prices. The owner will go out of his way to make you happy which is appreciated. We drive from our town which has several restaurants that are closer but not as good as Marlborough Pizza… this is our new go to place.

Yet another 5 star review! Marlborough Pizza continues to amaze me. I wanted to update my review since this was the first time trying the breakfast menu. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits with home fries and a side of Challah bread French toast. The girl got the corned beef has with eggs and a side of bacon. The food was amazing. Everything tasted so fresh and full of flavor. The biscuits and gravy were excellent. Better than any other place I’ve had them. The French toast was a huge hit with me. Big thick slices. Well cooked. Very much impressed. The corned beef has was tasty with a bit of bite to it. Chunky and moist but not pasty and much like most places serve up. Service is always outstanding! Give you an idea about the service. I ordered a couple of Mimosas, which were very good. The cooks were running a little behind so there was a few minutes wait on the food which was fine. I had no problems with this. Be that as it may the waitress brought over a comped Mimosa. How great is that? Really shows that they value their customers. I can appreciate that. Between the food and service… here take my money. lol

I grew up on the old Marlborough Pizza, even working there as a teenager for a while. After being away for 16 years I was interested to see how the new ownership was working out. I’ve got to say I’m a fan. The pizzas are great and I have also had a grinder recently that was good too. For Greek style pizza in this area, this place is hard to beat.

My Mom & my husband went there for breakfast after hearing that the breakfast was good, we wanted to do something nice for my Mom after staying for the weekend. To say we were all disappointed is an understatement. Usually, I would not bother with a review, but our experience was very poor. I ordered a croissant bacon egg & cheese sandwich. The croissant was stale, the egg was dry & just plain bad. No buttery flavor to the croissant, may as well have had toast. I also understand the policy of ‘no substitutions’ I get it, but our waitress was very rude and it seemed as if she would rather have a job anywhere but at the pizza place. Hopefully she was having a very off day & the other customers were getting better service as we asked her for napkins & half & half she disappeared. Lastly, the table & booth were sticky. Not sure I would try it again at least not for breakfast.

We were there Mother’s Day and after waiting 45 minutes for eggs we paid for drinks and walked out. Don’t get me wrong the place was busy but there were empty tables, so really, no excuses. Thanks for wasting our time.

Had breakfast this morning here. It was excellent! This is my new local go to for breakfast. The peons ate huge if you leave hungry is your own fault! I put their breakfast above a diner breakfast. It wasn’t to greasy. The staff is super sweet and make you feel right at home. A great breakfast spot is exactly what the area needed. I would recommend coming here you won’t be disappointed #

Found out they started to do breakfast, tried it today and am very pleased! This area needed a breakfast spot! I had the«Marlborough breakfast» great value! Eggs, potatoes, bacon, French toast! I couldn’t finish! Quick friendly service! Great way to start the day!

I was in town for an appointment and stumbled across Marlborough Pizza. It reminded me of Village pizza in Wethersfeld. Small, family run pizza place with a friendly staff. I didnt have much time and was only able to try a bowl of their home made chicken soup. Vegetables and rice were plentiful, taste was great but could have used a little more chicken. That combined with a few pieces of warm bread and two bud lights was the extent of my stay. The only down side is that there is no bar, i felt pretty lonely sitting in a booth by myself. They also only serve beer and wine. Looking forward to returning and giving the pizza a try.

A nice neighborhood place for pizza and seafood. We ordered from here again and the food was very good. The restaurant took the time to address prior issues and that was encouraging. Our takeout was prepared fast and fresh. Even a side salad had a very nice presentation, as it was literally hand-crafted down to the placement of shredded carrots. It’s far too easy to just throw salad in a container for takeout. The pasta was also very good with plenty of flavor. Our party really enjoyed the pizza. Although they have changed hands and names a few times in recent years, they’re worth a visit. Especially if you like pizza and/or seafood. The current owners really care about making you, the customer, satisfied. They’re also accommodating with making dishes that aren’t on the menu. They even took the time to make a special pasta dish with no meat, cheese or other dairy. All of the times we have come here, the staff members have been very friendly. We’ll be coming back!

Was starving and had just got done with a race and heading back to NY so decided to stop and try it. There were 3 waitresses and we had all 3 come to our table to take our orders, service was horrible. It took over ½ an hour to get our food and the 2 servers had such attitudes on them. The one kept rolling her eyes when she left the table even after we had put in the order correctly the first time. I advise to avoid this place. Not worth the money nor the time.

My wife and I have tried this place a few times over the last three years with the same result… bland, boring italian fare. Decided to try again because we saw a story in the local paper about a grand opening under the original owner of this place… supposed to be the master of pizza. ordered pizza. house special… looked great… tasted like cardboard. Sometimes I wonder if restaurant owners ever try what they serve. If I go to a restaurant I expect the food to be better than what I can buy from the freezer in a grocery store. Pretty high prices here definitely not justified by the their product. Go somewhere else

It used to be better, but it’s still better than the other pizza places in town.

Three of us went to this restaurant after a management change. The booth was dirty. The food was terrible. The service was awful. There are no redeeming qualities. The desserts by the door looked really bad. We did not try them. Buyer beware.

Bad. real bad. After we knew they had changed owners, we tried them once again. Ok. We decided to give it another shot. Drink was bad. Waitress kind of tried, but it wasn’t working. The worst part was that they served the salad with raw shrimp. I mean not cooked at all. After I sent it back, they cooked it a little bit but it still was not cooked through. Granted there is nothing worse than overcooked, rubbery shrimp, but it does need to be cooked. I only give it two stars because the pizza was pretty decent and they were open after a blizzard. Really, just order pizza out from here if anything. They haven’t convinced me they are ready for the full restaurant… which we really need in town.

I am interested to see that people are saying that Marlborough Pizza used to be better and now has gone downhill because ever since I was a kid, I found them pretty sub-par. For a place using my hometown’s namesake as their name, I was always disappointed to be so poorly represented. I’m going to make this review pretty brief. Haven’t been there in years, no desire to go back. As a kid they used to supply pizza to the elementary school for pizza day and I was always incredulous as to why the school didn’t use any other of the better places within a 10 mile radius. Pizza always tasted like the sauce was cheap, the cheese was burnt, and the crust was equally burnt and cheap. Went in to sit and eat maybe twice and remember both times being disappointed. As much as I like local business to succeed, I would be pretty okay with seeing Marlborough Pizza turned into a better establishment. It’s about time.

Update: Last time I was at Marlborough Pizza was one year ago. Since they changed hands this place has gone downhill. The newer reviews are spot on.

well you use to be a 4 star place under the old family, now you get only 3. why? well you used to be a square cut circle pie, now your back to the old school sliced pie. oh and the cheese is all non cooperative. not happy about that. and the cost! what is it with pizza in this area of Connecticut? did flour get taxed on the way out here? its the closest joint to the inlaws, but i guess there are still a few other options in the area. i like it and all, and its not jankie by any means, just, well its only going to get 3 stars from me. even when its bad its still kinda good.
