My experience with SunRun was similar to my experience with Solar City — which is to say SunRun has been completely overwhelmed with demand and I had to cancel my contract with them.
Communication was spotty at best and information was not being communicated across departments. I had to chase them for updates which were sporadic and severely delayed. On the plus side — their home inspector was competent and they seemed apologetic when they got things wrong (unlike SolarCity who didn’t seem to care).
After several weeks of confusion and delays — I gave up and cancelled our contract. I ultimately went with Sungevity — and I am happy that I did — because they have been nothing short of brilliant from start to finish.
My advice to SunRun is — if you can’t handle the volume — stop signing up new customers. It hurts your reputation in the long run; and reputation is easy to damage and hard to repair.

Sunrun was the company I chose to get solar panels for my home. This decision was well thought as I did a lot of homework before choosing Sunrun. I want to commend SunRun crew for their professionalism and efficiency in the installation of solar panels at my home. They were clean and efficient. I will recommend Sunrun to any homeowner that decides to go green and help make our world a better place to live.

Our utility company raised our rates 30% in January, we signed with Sunrun and got a locked in rate at about 40% less than what our utility is charging. The install is clean and the crew was awesome!

I don’t think I could have gone solar if it weren’t for SunRun. I had been interested in installing a solar system on our roof for a while but the costs appeared really prohibitive. Thanks to SunRun, we were able to get a system on our roof for about $ 500 bucks (they paid the upfront costs) and their crew came and installed everything — I didn’t have to get on top of my roof at all which was a huge relief. The installers were great — very professional, fast, and made sure everything was to our liking before they left. Now, my power bills are lower and I don’t have a heart attack each month, since I know more or less what to expect. And I don’t really have to worry about anything since SunRun owns the panels and are monitoring it. Switching to solar was surprisingly painless.
Sunrun made going green a lot easier without the financial or logistical burden. Highly recommended!
