I am slightly leaning towards a 4 star review vs. 3 and here’s why.
This location is not very large and at times the selection may be somewhat limited. However, I found bottles of wine here that I CANNOT find elsewhere. I just came back from Napa Valley and was excited to see certain wines that I thought I would not be able to find such as Hendry, Cakebread’s Pinot Noir, Buehler Vineyards, Stag’s Leap Cask 23 and SLV. It may not be a huge selection such as WineWorks or Total Wines, but I have found bottles here I cannot find elsewhere locally.
I definitely would advise downloading the Wine Searcher App to ensure that this location is giving you a good deal on pricing. Certain bottles yes, others no.
I cannot speak for the beer selection as that is not my forte.

So disappointed in this place. Power is out around the entire area and there is a run on ice. They still had some in stock but it was obviously half melted… seriously I weighed the «7lb» bag when I got home and it was more like a 3lb bag. I asked the cashier for a discount for the obviously half full bags but she shut that down. Way to take advantage of down on their luck patrons! Just lost a loyal customer.

Just make sure to note the size of the bottle they are advertising. Just received 3 375ml bottles of Justin Cab 2012 for $ 14.49 each. Whole bottle costs $ 21.00

Still our go to all the time for its convenience. Obvious in the last couple of weeks they raised prices suddenly and swiftly for the holidays. With all the competition nearby i.e. Joe canals and wineworks surprised that this happened.
It would be nice for a store in the last 2 weeks prior to Christmas to have more than one cashier available. The cashiers seem not to care about scanning your canals Clubcard.
It’s obvious that the ownership lacks… this has been going on through quite a few ownerships. While they still have an excellent selection this place can be so much more.. I can say that about Traino’s and Wineworks too.

4 stars for wines only. That’s pretty much all I buy here. The liquor prices are similar to PA as is Total Wine in DE.
But the wine selection is very good, and you can get serious help from one of the guys running around the store. I never leave here with less than 24 varied bottles. If you are passing by the old Olga’s Diner (closed) circle in NJ, stop by and enjoy the reasonable prices along with the selection.
And FUCK the PA Liquor Control Board.

Unfortunately for my purposes, the «bottles» referenced in the name of this Canal’s location are wine, not beer. The beers you’ll find here are a well-curated selection, but come up short of the other locations. The same goes for their liquors.
Canal’s Bottle Stop = wine, with a little bit of the other stuff.

sometimes you go out and you have what could be the best bottle of wine ever but then you go to every store in the area and you can’t find it and then you go to
or other wine stores and you can’t find it. Or worse still, you order wine and it NEVER COMES well this place not only confirmed they had every wine when i ordered them it got to be THE NEXT DAY. The prices are great and the they were very helpful. They did not have EVERY wine I wanted but what place does. They have a great selection and great prices and thats what matters most!
