This review is overdue, so here I am waiting for breakfast seems like a good time to play catch up! I teach yoga and have a meditation practice so floating seemed like a good thing to try. Sensory deprivation, to be devoid of sound, taste, touch, smell and sight. Floating in space almost is the idea. You book in advance and have your own private room. This is good compared to tanks I have seen that look like coffins! This is more of a spa feel. When you walk in the atmosphere is comfortable and serene where a friendly staff greets you and preps you for a tour. The rooms have different themes and are equipped with a personal shower and a pool for one. Once you go in you shower to make sure you have no products on you including make up or hair stuff. The pool is filled with one ton of Epsom salt which leaves you weightless in the water. They have a cool light inside along with soothing music which I think is great for beginners. Complete silence and quiet could feel overwhelming and scary at first until you have more trust for the process. Anyway, you have the option to turn that stuff off and on at any time. Then what? That’s it. You float. Give your body the experience of complete relaxation as the water supports you. No effort required from any part of your body, and you have the ability to truly let go. Personally even with having a meditation practice it was still difficult to stay present. I got out a little early and I’m sure it takes getting used to. Once you are finished they have a room where you can sit and decompress, have tea and journal in a community book. Really liked that. I give four stars only because I didn’t like the room I was in. The Galaxy room was painted black which made me a little anxious about what I couldn’t see in terms of cleanliness. The other rooms I would prefer like the world room has more of a spa feel.

I’ve been to 3 Float centers throughout my trials with the practice and I must say, this is my Goto. I recently finished my 3rd float here and must say, although my rough float due to feeling ill mid way, it was my most pleasurable visits to any facility. Due to a pretty rough headache, I couldn’t make the full 90 minute session, and when Tom heard this he was quick to ensure that I wouldn’t be costed for this float. I can’t thank him enough, as floating is something near and dear to me and this made even one of the least soothing floats(again, because of the headache, NOT the facility) a pleasant one. Just my notes on their location: Best tanks I’ve ever used(full room will never let me be in a pod again) The cleanest facility to date, with roomy outer chambers for all their tanks. The whole staff is amazing, I was even given ibuprofen for my head to make the rush hour traffic a bit more bearable. Last, if you’re reading this and have never floated before, book one today. Floating in general is one of the best things I’ve done in my life, and words rarely convey the real experience and benefits.

Review for 11/27/2015 Tom, the owner and master mind behind this place couldn’t have been cooler. This is NOT your typical float. This is a healing space as well as holds the areas largest custom designed tank tubs. My 12 y/o son plays football and is always struggling with leg pain after multiple practices and games a week. End of season/bday gift was to take him here to release the tension he built up all season. He is INLOVE and wants a tank like this in our home. Thanks Tom! We are still so relaxed 3 hrs later! Review for 12÷28÷15: Well folks, this place is still amazing! My two sons(9 and 12) and I went for a spa day. My youngest is on the hyper side and was not only relaxed by the experience but also the environment. Tom was our host once again, but make no mistake, his entire staff is amazing! He opened the facility on a holiday week for extra hours to accommodate those that already bought gift certificates. He already had our money and could’ve made us wait but because of the two missed days of the week due to holidays, he was kind empty to care about his clients. The facility is very clean, very zen and has 3 great custom tanks with a very chill staff, what more could you ask for? I have a work related injury that has ceased to cause me pain, however after floating I have the longest pain relief thus far from any treatment. It’s worth the money by far for the headspace and body bliss you gain from the time in the tank. Thanks again for being incredible! I’ll continue to sing your praises!

I’d never floated before, but when my brother told me about his experience, I immediately knew this was something I would like. He got me a gift certificate, and I just went! The entrance area is very nice, with dim lights, comfy chairs, and nice music. The lady who was working showed me the layout of the place and gave me some tips because it was my first time. The individual rooms were luxurious and spacious. The floating tank was more like a room, not a tank. I never felt claustrophobic. I spent the first 20 minutes intellectualizing the experience. Thinking about where the walls were, checking to see if I was going to bounce off a wall, remembering to relax my neck and let the water support my head, wondering about the water on my face(beads of sweat or drips off the ceiling?) After about 20 minutes, I went deeper into relaxation and forgot to feel the water line on my skin. I began to feel as if my limbs were enveloped in warm thickness. I began to think dreamlike thoughts, random memories, things I hadn’t thought of in years, plans for the future, etc. At moments I thought intellectually and was aware of the nuances of my deeper level of relaxation. At other moments, I would twitch and realize that I’d been almost asleep. At other moments, I’d «see» a collage of northern lights that pulsed in time with my breath, images of cartoon elephants lumbering across outer space, and palm fronts caressing my arms as I floated in a tropical rain forest. When the tibetian chimes sounded to gently rouse me, I felt a return to the present. I found the buttons for the lights and was happy they weren’t too bright. Then I willed myself to sit up. I felt so heavy. It was strange being affected by gravity again. I got out carefully because you become very slippery from the salt. Then I got a nice hot shower with the soap and shampoo they provide. After dressing, I relaxed in the back sitting room where they have mirrors, hair dryers, drinks, and comfy chairs. It was such a great experience. I am looking forward to going back. They told me that the more times you go, the faster you can reach relaxation, and the deeper you go into it. I’m excited to experience this again!

Walking into Float, you immediately feel a sense of calmness and peace before you even get started. The place is so peaceful and zen. This was my first float and afterwords my joints felt incredible, my skin was sooo soft and the best part was how deeply I slept ! Hear that Insomniacs? !! Thanks Amy and Tom

This place is absolutely incredible!!! I got a gift certificate as a birthday/baby shower gift and I could go on for days on how wonderful my experience was!!! I was greeted once I walked in. Give a quick tour, guided to my room where they give you specific instructions and then off you float!!! I couldn’t understand how my 8 month belly with twins would float but we did!!! It’s amazing to feel weightless ESPECIALLY pregnant!!! I suggest everyone to get mommy to be a gift like this it’s remarkable!!! My suggestion, they mention there are ear plugs, USETHEM!!! I had to carefully get out and get them within 10 min of floating(and I think I may have gotten an ear infection from whatever water did get in my ear), but other than that, it’s simply amazing!!! And the owners are incredible!!! You truly can feel the passion they have for this business!!!

Staff was awesome. The facility is awesome. The experience is awesome! It was my first time trying a sensory deprivation tank and my fear was the size of the tank but these things are huge. I was so relaxed I fell asleep(which is common). While the first half of my float was spent on figuring out how to relax, once I did I was in that state of mindfullness like right before you fall to sleep. I came out feeling like nothing could change my course and whatever I wanted to achieve I could set my mind to it and will it to fruition. If you’re hesitant just stop in for a tour and you’ll be floating in no time! Can’t wait to come back.

So let me begin by saying I did not«float» here but purchased a gift certificate for a friends birthday. I reside in Philly and was not thrilled at the idea of driving to NJ just to buy a gift cert. So I called and spoke to one of the owners over the phone. She was more than willing to let me purchase on over the phone and she sent me my receipt by email. A few days later I received the gift cert and a brochure in the mail. The birthday boy was thrilled! So five stars for excellent customer service!

An absolutely wonderful and relaxing experience. Such a pleasant way to turn off all the stimuli and just focus on yourself for a while. Amy could not have been nicer and the whole establishment is beautifully arranged. Very tranquil. Loved it.

Floating is perhaps the most relaxing thing that I have ever done. It’s hard to describe the physical relief, the mental clarity, and spiritual stimulation that comes with just an hour in the tank. Last night was my second time. I first floated to check it out and support my wife who is using the tanks for stress relief due to her MS. It’s working for her and we are fortunate to have found Float. The proprietor Tom is knowledgeable about the science and history of sensory deprivation, he’s inviting and a good listener. The facility is relaxing and clean. I can’t say enough good things about float and will be back many times again.

Absolutely the greatest thing to pop up within 20 miles of me. Already went for 2 floats, and have my next one scheduled! Going to get another 3 session package as well. The tanks are HUGE and everything about Float is so soothing and relaxing. From the ambience of the whole place, to the tank comfort, to their awesome guard dog Simon(so nice) who hangs in the front room. Highly recommend taking a load off and truly feel what it’s like to float in space!!!
