Great people, very helpful, but they badger the shit out you to buy more than you want. I think they scare some customers off. Selling vitamins and such is far below their actual sales skill potential.

This location is more convienent for me but i will skip it every time due to one reason… customer service. Don’t get me wrong the last time i was there a few months back i was greeted at the door, then again as i checked out the protein bars, then again as i passed by the registers, and with every greeting came a follow up «what kind of protein do you use?» or «do you take a multi-vitamin?» to which i answered kindly and then got asked«why do you take –insert protein brand– ?» as the employee reached for«item of the week» or whatever it was«try this one instead, it’s better and only $ 69.99!» Listen, I worked in retail so i understand the«SELLSELLSELL!!» mentality BUT there is a fine line between selling and being flat out annoying. I happened to grab a pre-workout product by the company BSN for a buddy of mine who had asked me to grab it for him since i was making the trip. Now keep in mind it’s the brand he asked for because he’s gotten results and genuinely likes it. I move to the register and am told«that stuff is garbage man, seriously BSN sucks dude,» by the buff cashier as the other workers chime in like clockwork. Then two other products are shoved in my face as well as «add on’s» which i politely declined. Then I’m asked(again) about my multi-vitamin, «i’m good, thanks,» which apparenly was the wrong answer because it was met with«how about just taking advantage of the multi deal, it’s buy one get one ½ off» to which i say thanks but not thanks as now i just want Fabio to scan my pre-workout and protein bars so i can leave. But he’s not done selling! «how about this –insert protein brand name– for just $ 59.99? It’s a great tasting protein with good results.» …Sigh… Look, it’s definately a management thing passed down by corporate so i guess i shouldn’t be mad at the employees for doing their job. But really, if you dare enter this GNC do yourself a favor and wear headphones and don’t dare make eye contact with the employees. If you are easily roped into spending your hard earned cash these sharks will smell the blood and you will walk out of there spending hundreds of dollars and confused as to what just happened.
