I got my hair cut here several months ago and it was an OK experience, except for interacting with the owner who was obnoxious. For some reason, the girl cutting my hair asked the owner about my haircut and the owner repeatedly talked about most of her customers are«corporate cuts…» whatever the h*ll that means. I have short hair and wear a suit almost every day, but didn’t wear it to the get my haircut. I do not think $ 35 is expensive for a good haircut, but I pay more not to here a hear a business owner try to validate herself through self-aggrandizement. It does not create an upscale(or moderate upscale) environment — it does the opposite. Class has much more to do with demeanor than anything else.

I hate writing negative reviews. I really do. But I had a really bad experience at this establishment. I called ahead to get pricing before I went for the first time. And the girl who picked up said 35 $ and then went into how it’s not just a hair cut. You also get a shampoo wash, a hot towel facial massage and an arm and shoulder massage. Plus a style. I didn’t get any of those things. He cut my hair and that was it. He didn’t even put any product in my hair when he was done. He was more concerned about taking pictures of my hair. I wouldn’t have written this review for just that. But he also didn’t cut my hair the way that I asked him to. That’s why I am mad. I’m a guy with medium normal hair. I asked for a part in the side. He completely shaved off the part that I had there. Even when I had specifically asked for a part. Now I look like a Russian pop star. I didn’t realize what het was doing until it was too late. They were all very nice there and I feel bad saying anything. But now I have to wait a month or two for my hair to grow back on the side. Even if I had paid half of what I did, it still would’ve been a bad experience. Maybe I’m the only one who slipped through the cracks of good customer service. But for that price range you need to be on your game.

Place was nice and clean. Super friendly staff. But I didn’t think the $ 35 dollar haircut or experience was worth it. Sure I got greeted with some coffee, and the stylist chats you up, but I didn’t see where the premium price went to. I honestly didn’t like my haircut. Way too short but I had to let her finish. I even tipped her well. Maybe just a bad experience but I’ll have to check out other places next time. Oh you can’t tip with a credit card. Strange.

Nice environment but just wasn’t happy with the cut. I wanted this to be a good cut because I was getting married the next day. The girls are nice but the high skin fade I received was horrible. It looked like I had a straight line around my head, I wound up stopping at my barber the next morning and he fixed it up for me. I only went there because the reviews were good but when you only have one barber that can use a straight blade on your head you shouldn’t be called a barbershop. I also paid $ 44 to have my beard cleaned up and this haircut and that was with 20% off. Crazy!!!

Second cut of the new year. Have been coming here for quite a while. The basic men’s cut with wash is $ 35 which may be a bit more than most are willing to spend, but for the overall experience it’s worth it. I try to stick with the same person, Beth, because it just makes life easier than trying a new person who doesn’t know the weird things you like when it comes to hair style. I’ve gone through a few different people, mostly because they’ve moved on to other jobs, but Beth has been a great stylist, who also offers the massages if you’re looking to get one. The whole place is very friendly and love to shoot the bull with you on anything and everything. Whether it’s the weather, a popular courtroom case or crazy sports incident, the staff at Simply Gents are down to Earth and eager to please and make everyone comfortable. Most of the other employees are female, but I’ve seen a guy periodically who handles the razor shaves and particulars for close cut styling. My only qualm is the inability to add a tip to the credit card payment, since I usually forget to bring cash, but I’ve lucked out in all my visits and had something to give for my gratitude. Stop by, get a hair cut or two and relax which chatting up the staff.

Thanks, do not go to the place marked on the Unilocal map until they can update it. Call for directions or type Staples into GPS and you will find it just fine. Apts accepted as well as walkin. Did not have option to leave a tip on my card, luckily I had some cash or I could not have left a tip for the great service. Razor neck shave is the best. Wish they are closer to my home in Seattle, good find while on vacation :)

Brought my brother here for a haircut and his eyebrows, not so sure I was okay with the price. $ 45 for a men’s cut, didn’t know that was the average. The staff was sweet, didn’t love the sitting area, seemed like they tossed in some old couches. And the reception desk was a little awkwardly placed. My brother loved it, hence the 4 stars, but he didn’t get the face massage and all that’s promised with a haircut, so I’m really not ok with the price. Considering it’s the only all men’s salon in the area, he’ll be back, but I don’t know if I love it and find it worth the experience.

My first straight razor shave! I received a livingsocial gift for a shave and a haircut here, TWOBITS(in this case, two bits is a $ 60 value) When I arrived there was a short wait where I was offered a drink. Then the barber cut my hair first. I was less than impressed with the hair cut. I have(had) longer hair for a guy and what I think is an inch is more like 4 inches to the barber who cut my hair. I did like that he shaved the back of my neck with the straight razor to finish my haircut off. The shave was excellent. Hot towel, face was given a pre-shave oil, moisturized, and then warmed lather applied with a brush. Like I said, this was my first straight razor shave and I was surprised how good it felt as he saved me. No cuts, no irritation, and the closest shave that I’ve ever had(and I have very thick, dense facial hair, with a 2 o’clock shadow). After the shave he used a alum block and another hot towel. After the shave they washed my hair and gave me a forearm and hand massage. The massage was a bit of a waste, I’d rather they bring the price down a bit and get rid of this 2 minute massage. All in all, it wasn’t bad. I would definitely go back for a shave, but I don’t normally pay that much for a haircut.

Had my first visit here last week — a recent birthday gift for a haircut and a straight razor shave(my first). The place was a little hard to find(ignore the address for your GPS… it’s in the Staples shopping center at Rt. 70 and Cropwell Road) but it was definitely worth the effort. From start to finish I was pampered by my stylist(Beth…ask for her… she’ll take good care of you!) and I was most happy with the results… from the haircut to the straight razor shave to the hand massages(which I didn’t know was included.) I will be back for sure!
