I don’t enjoy writing critical reviews, but I had the most uncomfortable massage of my life at Wonderland. The masseuse was friendly, but her technique was awkward, clumsy, messy and uncomfortable. It felt like I was being rubbed down by Flipper. A few specifics: – She used so much oil, it was literally dripping down the sides of my back onto the table. – Instead of working one area of my body at a time(e.g., massage back, then one leg, then the other leg, then one arm, then other arm, etc…), she moved back and forth from my back, to one leg, then again to the back, then to other leg, then to first leg, then again to back of third time, etc… It didn’t seem like she had any conscious strategy to relieve muscle tension, just a distracted and random way of squeezing. I seriously question whether she had any professional training. –When the massage started, I was face down, covered with a sheet. The masseuse pulled the top of the sheet off of my back and folded it over my legs. Later, in order to massage my lower body, a normal masseuse would unfold the sheet and re-cover my back, so that only my legs would be exposed. By contrast, this masseuse took the sheet and just crumpled it into a ball on top of my butt. She then moved the crumpled ball onto the small of my back(leaving the rest of my body – upper back, arms, legs– exposed) and started to squeeze my butt! Not massage it, but squeeze it, as if my butt were two balls of Charmin… Ugh, just thinking about it again gives me the willies. Let’s just say, I left much more tense than I arrived. Normally, I love any massage and wouldn’t turn down a back rub from my 7 year old sister, but I will never go back here.
