DO NOT STAY HERE! THIEVES!, my cash deposit of 150 $ yes 150 $ was taken from me because the «boss» smelt my medical marijuana. The night before the front desk employee smelt it as well and told me the smell was fine as long as I didn’t smoke in there rooms, so I followed there request. When I told the «boss» this she said well he’s not the boss so overall I got my 150 $ deposit taken for bringing my prescription into my hotel room! But my smell was a lot better than the disgusting odors coming from thru out the hotel, along with the bugs yes bugs even though it’s winter and overall horrible rooms, service and professionalism so once again DO NOT STAY HERE! Especially if your a marijuana patient or if you don’t like bad service and disgusting rooms! I pray nobody else has to go through a terrible experience like my wife and I did!

For the cheapest price we could find at $ 60 per night we could not pass this up after a miserable start to our vacation. This place was our home for the night and we had a great time with their heated pool and hot tub. Their staff was gracious and kind. It was a great last minute stop and there also was a complimentary breakfast. The room was a standard room you would get at any hotel and you would probably pay more $$$. However the walls were thin and the side door of the hallway did not lock. Overall it was the best price within 40 miles of where we were staying. It solved our vacation problem for the night.

I want to make it clear before you read on that I am a «road warrior» that stays at all sorts of hotel/​motel brands. Yeah, I have a preference for my favorite chains but I am often forced to stay at a less desirable place. For the last few nights I have setup camp here at Americas Best. As the other reviews clearly indicate — this place is in need of a makeover. That is my only b*tch. It has the creepy old bathroom tiles like in an old house and has that nasty stucco finish on the walls. Big deal. I own my own biz and I foot the bill. At no time have I felt insecure nor grossed out. I got this room through an online website «HW» for $ 42 a night with taxes and fees. That is a STEAL! My usual preference of the Holiday Inn charges well over $ 100 a night and was sold out already when I was booking about two weeks ago. I have been to total dumps and this place is NOT a dump. This place also isn’t the Ritz Carlton either. Staff here are very friendly. I did not get a chance to sample the breakfast as I don’t eat breakfast. Indoor pool is a nice touch if you travel with kids. ⁴⁄₅ stars for the price, staff, and availability. The room is clean but needs to be updated. Tube TV set. Has a newer modern (digital) floor-​on-​wall AC/​Heat until.

This hotel is basic. It’s a bit out from town, the beds are hard, and the continental breakfast (served in a hot room off the lobby) leaves something to be desired. However, it was $ 78/​night — the cheapest we found in the Marquette area. The room seemed clean enough, although not in the best condition. Would I stay here again? No, but it was fine for one night.

For a cheap place, you can’t go wrong. The staff was super friendly (one of whom even helped me out with getting to Marquette without spending $ 15 on a cab ride by explaining the local bus system, calling their dispatch to let them know I’d be waiting, etc.).
The rooms weren’t anything special, and while the beds were a little uncomfortable, the bathrooms were perfectly fine. I honestly have no idea what the other reviewers were talking about. They were clean, the showers were alright, and, well, they worked as bathrooms should work.
The wifi also worked just fine. Provided you’re not too far from the front desk, you should be alright in that respect.
Marq-​Tran (the local bus service) has a stop just behind the inn as well, so if you need to hop to town or the airport (like me) and don’t feel like lighting money on fire by taking a cab, it’s quite convenient.
I’ll definitely come again if I ever need another hotel in the area.

The security was awful, y husband and I had to fix the window before we could leave the room because it opened out into a hallway and was unlocked and open when we arrived with no screen. Room was small and the mattresses hard. The queen bed was a double. Pool was warm and spa was hot. Friendly staff. Price was low.

Yeah, no. It’s shabby and the room was humid and smelled like sweat. The water jets in the bathtub had stuff growing on them, and the vanity wasn’t cleaned. I’ve stayed at perfectly acceptable older hotels before with absolutely no problem, and this was not one of them. We ended up swallowing the $ 70 or so (prepaid) and got another room at a different hotel.

I would not consider this to be a «best value.» At $ 79 a night, we could have had much better elsewhere. But it was late, and we were tired. I think they bank on people just like us — too tired to switch.
It was a very basic room. The ceiling fixture didn’t even have a cover over it. Now that’s basic. There were someone’s leftover goldfish crackers lying under the bed — nice housekeeping.
The piece de resistance was the shower. OMG! The shower! We had been backpacking for four days and had not, therefore, showered for four days. Needless to say, we were so looking forward to our showers. Instead they were officially our worst showers EVER! They were a complete nightmare. It didn’t matter what temperature you set it at, it would rotate between scalding hot and freezing cold approximately every 15 seconds — but it was random, so one couldn’t count on jumping out of the way every 15 seconds. There was no happy medium. We had gotten there quite late, as I mentioned. I felt horrible for our neighbor who had to listen to me scream throughout my shower. I couldn’t help it. It hurt! What a complete nightmare!
