Ordered fried meatballs and potsticker soup. The fried meatballs were generic, frozen, tasteless, bought in meatballs covered in a generic, bought in sweet sauce. The fact that they were frozen and pre-cooked probably saved me from food poisoning since they were not thoroughly cooked and still refrigerator cold in the middle. They took them back, cut them in half, and fried them again to bring them to temp. So a precooked, already deep fried meat ball was cooked a third time and served to me as a very dry and chewy«appetizer.» The«potsticker» soup had a pleasant aroma of ginger and red pepper, but the soup was just water with sugar, ginger, and red pepper added, plus a few carrots and bean sprouts. It also had store bought wontons(not potstickers) which were fortunately heated through. My server(Leah) was attentive, prompt, and professional. She is the reason for the one star of this review. They were also kind enough to discount the appetizer(not the whole meal, just the appetizer) for the cold meatballs. However, it is not a good sign that the servers were recommending other restaurants to other customers. $ 20 wasted on a bad meal and decent service. Don’t waste your time or money.

Another great meal couldn’t ask for a better place to eat at in the area! If you haven’t been here do try it out I know you’ll be please… I really shouldn’t be telling you this because it’s my best Kept Secret when I come to Marquette

Great Noodle Stand. The Teriyaki Bowl is a great concept for Marquette. The menu is well-priced and has great variety and is not excessive. My family typically orders the Crab wontons(rangoons), the potstickers(steamed) and the Meatball Teriyaki Bowl(with noodles). I love noodles, and the Teriyaki bowl noodles are great, though I thinki the flavor/sauce(teriyaki?) can be a bit stronger. I usually ask for more sauce to add in. The meatballs are really good. The food has great flavor and is portioned right. I like that the cooks/chefs there add in fresh vegetables/trimmings. They even have Siracha available and some other dipping sauces. We also used to order the Fresh Rolls(Thai Salad or summer roll), which are great. My wife loves these with peanut sauce, but despite repeated requests, the owners of Teriyaki bowl don’t want to add peanut sauce for these. It is odd since they also own the Thai House in Marquette and do serve their Fresh Rolls there with peanut sauce. Please add peanut sauce as option at Teriyaki Bowl !! The location is a bit out of the way for the Noodle Stand/street food concept, but is well worth the trip. Another thing that would be nice at the Bowl is a spice tray(variety of hot peppers/sauces) that is offered at the Thai House. Based on a 5-star system, I would rate the Teriyaki Bowl as a 4.5.

Sooo, only here in Marquette for 1 more day and this place came highly recommended. My son LOVES noodles and he and I have both been hungry for something with an Asian flair all week. We were really excited to finally get our Asian fix so went in tonight for dinner. First off, they do NOT offer kids choices of any kind, nor do they offer small portions. SO, if like us, you don’t have a clue what you’re in store for, good frickin luck. He ordered the Teriyaki chicken noodle bowl, I had the General Tso’s chicken with white rice and my daughter opted for one of her all-time favorites, fried potstickers. Her potstickers were awesome. I mean, hands down the BEST potstickers we have ever eaten. Hence the 1 star. My chicken was alright. Covered in raw green onions and cooked crunchy… The abundance of thick shreds of lettuce liberally dumped in on top of the hot rice really made me wonder. The ice-berg lettuce half burying my borderline overly sweet and super-sticky chicken and completely hiding the rice was unnecessary and just shouldn’t have been there. Threw half of the offending lettuce out into an extra bowl right away and STILL had to dig through lettuce to get to the rice and chicken. My fingers were stuck together for most of the meal, even after washing them twice. My son’s noodles however, just gross. They were giant, fat, wormy looking things that were overcooked to the point of near oblivion and the chicken was dry and bland. He’s a noodle purist so opted for NO veggies, which was a good thing as they looked to have been raw shreds of carrots, bean sprouts, raw chopped green onions and lettuce shreds. Who knows if any of the veggies would have been cooked with the noodles, doubtful. After his first bite he was not about to take another and I completely agreed once I tried the slop myself. No flavor really, no texture except the dried out chicken and beyond smushy, soggy noodles so I called the server back for help. Yeah right. She was no help. This did not go well. Asked her if maybe they had a thinner noodle with a bit of broth or something, that he did NOT like this bowl at all at which she responded«You mean rice noodles? I can bring those. If you want, I can put the chicken on top? Or do you want me to charge you for a whole new chicken bowl?» **Now surely this is a decent restaurant and they would NEVER charge me for a bowl that was gross, and sent back after 2 bites, right? WRONG.** He clearly stated he did not like the chicken and I reiterated that we wouldn’t be eating it so away went the worm-like noodle bowl and dried out chicken. She then came back with a bowl of nothing but boiled rice noodles and recommended he use«lots of soy sauce, they were just plain noodles now». Inedible gumpaste would have been a more appropriate description of my 11 year old’s dinner now. They were sticking totally to the bowl and his fork. I offered to share some lettuce. I mean General Tso’s, but after stating he was starving, and being the trooper he is, my son went back to the counter again(obviously we were bugging these people just by our mere presence, how dare we) to ask for butter or some kind of sauce or SOMETHING to help flavor the goop now in the bowl. At this he was told they don’t have butter but was offered sweet n sour sauce. He figured why not, and was able to choke down a few forks full before declaring he was finished. The bill and a box came, we were still charged the almost 9 bucks for the teriyaki chicken bowl he did NOT eat, with the reason being when asked that«you know, the chicken we had to cook was expensive, and those rice noodles are like, really expensive too.» Well then, perhaps this place should make their expensive shit edible. After me debating the idiocy of being charged for food we would not and did not eat, and how a bowl of gummy rice noodles right out of the water could be 9 bucks, the girl ever-so generously took 10% off our bill. Won’t ever be back. Don’t even need to think twice. Potstickers be damned!

K.I.S.T– keep it simple and tasty This is what this place does. Selection is small, but good. Environment is quaint and fun yet relaxed and comfortable Staff was attentive and when they were out of what was needed for my order they were able to suggest something similar and knew what I was looking for that day according to my original order. Only complaint is it was somewhat blandish– almost like pre-cooked for some things. I got the feeling that they want to be a healthy affordable alternative, but found out it’s expensive so cut corners– I would say don’t, go back to farmer market fresh.

The food is very americanized. The taste is ok, but doesn’t taste like chinese food or japanese food or thai food.

I’ve been here about a half dozen times now and have had a chance to try a variety of menu items. The service is really great and the staff are friendly, but I have yet to be really impressed with the food. I moved to Marquette from Hawaii and have traveled extensively in Japan, so perhaps I’m setting my sights too high… But, I think the cooking could be a bit more authentic. It tastes like they use instant rice in the bowls which there’s no excuse for; why not authentic steamed Japanese rice? It’s easy and tastes better. And the veggies are really uninspiring: raw lettuce(iceberg?), shoots, and carrots. It’s a little bland… I would love to see some seaweed salad or pickled ginger instead. Meats are okay, usually the sauce is a bit sweet and too generous, it soaks deep into the rice and the noodles and isn’t very pleasant. If they make these few tweaks, I could totally see myself coming back more often.

Stopped here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The menu is small with some interesting bowls and some apps. I had the green tea, steamed potstickers, and the yum bowl. The spicy level is from 1 – 5 and I said a 1 – 2 and it was pretty spicy. My nose was running! The portion was huge for $ 8 and I would come back again.

Dropped by this place to check out the namesake dish. I came at lunch time, and had a chicken teriyaki bowl. I must say, the chicken was delicious, and the sauce was just right. I also appreciated the extra sauce brought to my table. My only complaint really is the portion size– it was too much for lunch, and I’m NOT a light eater. The price, $ 8, was fine for the portion, but I wish they had a slightly smaller portion for say, $ 6 that would be more appropriate for lunch. My bill for the bowl and a drink was $ 10 plus tax, a bit high for an everyday lunch. Also, if you eat in, they have table service. I would feel bad if I didn’t leave a tip, so that is yet another additional expense.

Stopped in on the way home to lower Michigan because I was looking for fast and something asian. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The waitress was amazingly helpful. I had the fresh rolls, steamed pot stickers and the Tom Yum soup. All were excellent. Spiced right and very filling. It appears to be a fast food joint but it is not. Give it a try if your looking for excellent asian flavor in da UP eh.

Placed a to go order and while I waited the pleasant wait staff gave me a ice water with lemon. The atmosphere was completely unexpected. It is trendy without trying too hard. A pleasant surprise considering the place is located in a small strip of stores. If I wasn’t alone on a business trip, I would sit down and have a complete meal with a companion. Far warning. Their university level spicy is realllllllly HOT!!!

Stopped in today for the first time for lunch. Upon walking in I was greeted right away by not one but two people who I later found out were the owners. The place is small but the décor is warm and inviting. I ordered the beef teriyaki bowl with noodles«high school» hot and crab wontons. The food was excellent and the portion size allowed for some left-overs. The spice level was right on the money. Prices were fair for the amount of food. Highly recommended, I’ll be returning soon!

Just went to Teriyaki Bowl. The inside has a really comfortable atmosphere, employees are extremely nice and friendly. I ordered the beef teriyaki bowl to go. When I got home to eat it my head nearly exploded in rainbows it was so delicious. It was spicy but sweet and the beef was the best that I have ever tasted. Will definitely be going back(hopefully tomorrow!) Never in my life have I taken the time to write a review about a restaurant, let alone take the time to create the page for that restaurant since it’s so new. This place is just that good.
