The food was good but the lady who owns it Tammy and caters is not good to work with. She never knew who I was every time I called or came to the venue. She never informed me of any changes to the venue. Such as a big platform and pergola that was built where The ceremony washing to be. I also am missing a lot of decorations I paid for. Which she told me that the people I trusted to pick them up took them. I had to hire someone to help put up decorations and with coordinating the wedding because Tammy said she does not deal with that since she is just a caterer. She was very rude to the coordinator and told her she did not have time to answer her questions because she had to cook. She called me the day before my wedding telling me she and her staff could not hang up my hanging decorations and none of them could get on a ladder, which I was never informed of in the first place. When I brought this to her attention she said the girl Mallory who went over the decorations with me should have told me but because she was pregnant that she was just not thinking. Then when she finally did show up when I was going over the decorations I asked her when I could get someone to pick up the decorations and she ignored me and started talking about someone else. Also, when I first signed a contract with her she gave me a cake allowance that we both agreed on but closer to my date she apparently forgot and added that price back onto my price. I had to remind her and show her the original contract in order to get what we originally agreed on. Please people, really think about it before coming here. I have heard from others and her staff that this is how she is. I paid a lot of money for an experience that I would not do again if I could go back in time.

We’re having our wedding here, in Spring 2016, and our first walk through has left us with a good impression. This, as with all reviews, will change over time, so please stay tuned for an in depth review once our wedding is over!

this is a great, fun, very affordable place that no one really knows about, unless your a big fan of cajun music… They don’t open for live music every night, but they do lots of specialty shows. most recently? I went to a fundraiser for a bourbon street musician who passed away… the new orleans musicians clinic, and about 12 bands got together to raise money for awareness. All Cajun, blues, zydeco, all day long. Bbq, burgers, jambalaya, beer, drinks, and more. raffles, and more. the music was so awesome, and the folks who work there? just so nice. call ahead to make sure that live music is going on… otherwise, head out there for a wonderful day on the bayou. You can rent a canoe for about $ 15 and head out without a guide into the swamps. Don’t be afraid, they keep the big guys well fed at the other end of the swamp. and right next door is a wonderful restaurant that does the same. The gators literally come out for dinner nightly. the tour is safe, your in an area that you can’t get lost in. You get to the end of the line, and you can get outta the canoe and get a walk in, as your in lafittes barataria… just down the street there’s cajun cabins you can also rent. Always call this place before you head out, to make sure you know whats going on. Its literally only about 20 minutes from new orleans. this place is also available for rent. You could have an unbelievable party out here. Your in a giant building, that opens up to nature, with a big stage, and lots of «coon azz» décor. gator skulls, turtles, and more. signs saying«don’t feed the gators» with a visual that will make you NOT want to feed the gators… LOL huge bbq pits, and more, lend to making this an unreal experience, that you won’t soon forget. get out there… enjoy!
