I would give it a zero if I could. This store is dirty, both inside and out, there is literally stuff everywhere like they haven’t organized the place in years, hstaffed with people who could give two sh*** if you get your items or not and generally a pit where you go in for what should be a 10 minute experience and end up stuck there for an hour waiting for someone to pull your items or help you. I try desperately not to shop here unless they’re really the only ones with the item.

Came into the store to pick up one item from layaway at 6:39PM on Tue, Dec 15th so not really a bustling night for shopping. Waited until 7:22 for the manager to bring it from the back. She said that she was the only one pulling items when there were at least three other people working the front end. Very inefficient and a waste of time. Would have been quicker to get a refund and then go checkout. 43 minutes wasted.

My wife and I drove 100 miles to Marrero, Louisiana to pick up an online order. We had never been to Marrero before so we made a day trip out of it. Google Maps got us there, but had a rough time navigating through New Orleans. When we arrived at Toys R Us, we were not expecting much based on the outside of the store. We were very pleasantly surprised by the inside. In Baton Rouge, we lost our Toys R Us to a newly located Toys R Us/Babies R Us. We didn’t realize just how much of a toy store we had lost until walking into this store. It was as close to what had been to our old toy store as it possibly could be. We both knew where to find everything from all the time we had spent at our old toy store. It was a very nostalgic shopping experience. We hope they never change the inside of the store, but the outside could use some upkeep. We will definitely be coming back here and telling family and friends about it.

We stopped here by chance to find a Jurassic World toy. What a decrepit place – worn out or ruined because of age or neglect. Buy online.

First of all, they sell the same balls here that you find in ball pits at Chucky Cheese and places like that. YOUCANCREATEYOUROWNBALLPIT! I want to buy bags and bags of them and fill a whole room with them and have my own ball pit. I think this is also how 5 year old’s think. I stopped in here looking for kid stuff. I hadn’t set foot in a Toys R Us since I was a kid myself, so it was interesting to see it from the«other side» as it were. The place is huge and carries pretty much everything your little rugrat could ever want. I really like that everything is organized by section. There’s a section for little kids(Playskool, Fisher Price), a section with Barbie stuff, another with Star Wars stuff, Hello Kitty stuff, WWE, Iron Man, etc. You get the point. I went on a weekday afternoon, so the place was pretty much abandoned. I saw maybe 2 kids the entire time I was there and I didn’t see anyone working the floor. Everything was pretty easy to find and well priced. I can imagine that this place gets ridiculous on the weekends and during holidays, so if you need to venture into this place, plan accordingly.

Oh, right… I never wrote a review for this Toys R Us. My visits here are really never memorable enough to do so. It’s all overpriced compared to purchasing the same stuff at Walmart, Target, or online. However, the crowds are never as bad as Walmart, and since I live in Marrero, it’s pretty convenient. Unlike my previous horrible experiences at the Metairie location, the staff here seems pretty friendly and helpful. The last time I was here, we purchased a little climber/slide/swingset for the munchkin. I wanted to purchase it online and pick it up in the store, but of course both Marrero and Metairie locations aren’t offering this service yet. So, we went in person, took the tag to the cashier, and then within about 5 – 10 mins another employee brought the item from the back. He helped load it into the vehicle, too. Not bad at all.
