My nephew graduated from Mars Hill University in December so we booked rooms at the Comfort Inn. The hotel was very comfortable, the breakfast was more than adequate, and the staff was very nice and helpful. This is the second time I’ve stayed at this location. I would definitely return.

My son will be attending Mars Hill University in the fall and this is the only hotel for miles. I know I’ll be staying here often and it’s adequate for an overnight or two. The first time we stayed, our tv remote died just as we settled in. Thank goodness our room was close enough to the desk for me to feel comfortable enough to walk there in my PJs. in the morning the hair dryer didn’t work but the staff was accommodating and got me one fairly quickly. The second time we visited, it was a much better experience. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast bar is «eh»… it has the basics, but I wish it had some meat choices like bacon or sausage. In our first floor bathroom, we could hear the person above us in their bathroom doing their business. Stains were noticed on the chair and comforter which did turn us off, but not enough to keep us away.

Crooks! Highway Robbery at its best! NEVER staying here again! We were in the area hiking at Mt. Mitchell, we were exhausted and only slept and showered. We didnt even unpack, we cleaned up after ourselves and even made the bed. However, a $ 22 extra charge appeared on our card. We certainly did not take towels or anything else. I didnt even bother disputing the charge, because it isnt worth the time lost spending an hour on my phone. I wonder how many other people they do this to? Lesson learned! I am never staying at the Comfort Inn in Mars Hill at University Area 167 Jf Robinson Lane, Mars Hill, NC28754 Thank you Daniel

Stayed here for three nights recently while exploring Western North Carolina. Very clean, and apparently quite new. Friendly, helpful staff. We spent most of the day out and about exploring and enjoying the surrounding areas. Located 15 minutes from downtown Asheville and an hour from Mt. Marshall. Also about an hour from Bristol Motor Speedway. I would definitely recommend this place to someone who wasn’t looking so much for on-site amenities, as they were a simple clean place to lay their head for the night, and awaken to a free southern breakfast, and hit the road to go enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains and Asheville!

I called the property and made the reservation over the phone — whoever helped me was very friendly, well spoken and gave me honest info about weather conditions. We stayed the night before tubing. The carpets in the halls looked new — there are granite counter updates throughout. I did notice as someone had commented that there were unused plastic anchors in the room that could have been painted over. The tv was huge and had a great channel selection. The breakfast bar was nice and we got an extra hour(late checkout) so we could come back and change after tubing. Our only complaint was even though we were in a non smoking room, the other end of the hall was smoking. The smoke was terrible — it caused our whole room to smell like smoke too. It’s hard to sleep when your room smells that way. They should really make smoking and non smoking floors. We also got a bit of a sour look from the female front desk attendant when she reactivated our room cards. Apparently they deactivate at 11AM and she seemed not to like that the earlier desk attendant had approved late check out. An okay place to stay if you’re in Mars Hill and are looking for a bargain.

Lots of plastic wall anchors in the walls that are no longer being used(I counted 7 in our room), holes in bathroom doors, leaky toilets that flood those bathrooms below you, breakfast is mediocre at best, odd layout — stairs take you to the external lobby and you have to re-enter through the main front doors. I’ve seen better, but not much worse. Probably the worst aspect is the total lack of available outlets for a modern traveling family. Love charging my devices in the bathroom. Really the property just needs to finish whatever remodeling they started. Fairly clean though. They just need a little attention to detail.

Comfort Inn Mars Hill is the perfect basic, clean, no-nonsense hotel. My wife and I stayed there one night to visit my son who is attending school in Mars Hill. We arrived at 8:00 pm and went right to sleep. No problems, although my wife said she cold hear people using the ice machine located outside our door. She’s a light sleeper. Our room was on the third floor so we didn’t have to hear footsteps above us. The room had a coffee maker, refrigerator, hair dryer, iron, etc., and the shower was pleasant. The next morning we enjoyed the free continental breakfast, which included selections of yogurt, cereal, milk, hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, waffles, juice, coffee, etc. The breakfast was not«five star», but it was enough for my wife and I to fuel up for the morning. There is a Waffle House restaurant located within walking distance down the hill if you need it. I also enjoyed the free Wall Street Journal. The staff was pleasant and helpful and I can’t complain about our stay. I would have given it five stars if the food was better and the price was a little less.(we paid $ 90. $ 75 would have been great) Overall it is a great hotel. The attached pictures as of August 28th are accurate. Good luck and safe travels.

Staying here for one night, then heading over to Scenic Wolf Resort for a Family Reunion. This place is super clean, looks brand new, on top of pretty high hill, close to Route 26 in Mars Hill.
