This was our second visit, two years apart. Portions are large and score high for flavor. We love the fusion of more Tex items like chicken fried steak(ribeye here!) with the traditional Cajun flavors. On both visits the fried green tomatoes were a little greasy, but worth it if you don’t get those much. The«steamed» veggies had a peppery butter seasoning, which my 4 year old didn’t love. Also worth noting that the fries are batter-fried so they are extra crunchy. Would love to try the garlic version on our next visit!

Best restaurant in marshall hands down. Wichita Falls hot wings, cajun burger, new Orleans cheese bread and garlic fries make the perfect meal!

Stopped in on our way from Chicago to Houston. Fried chicken was moist and tasty. Servings are enormous and waitstaff is super friendly. Best thing — beignets are absolutely scrumptious! Only downfall — Gumbo was served warm-ish and without much flavor.

My daughter and I had the Crawfish Surprise and the Breaux Bridge Classic. Both were fantastic. I will definitely be back. Not sure about wanting a tip when I order tho. Apparently they believe, like many, that they are somehow entitled to a tip. I only tip if I am waited on, not just because you walked my food to me. Anyway, the food was delishus and the peeps were nice.

I really, REALLY wanted to like this restaurant, and HOPE they will read the review and make improvements because I’m sure based on the reviews below that much of their menu is great. Great atmosphere and fantastic customer-friendly service from the moment you walk in the door. Loved that. No alcohol — we can take or leave it, but do like to have the option. Mushroom Swiss cheese burger. Great burger — small«fixins» bar. Garlic parmesan fries — Amazing. Texas Twister potatoes: Homemade potato chips — flavorless. Grilled Shrimp Salad: Please, PLEASE, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE, lose the«salad in a sack» with the horrible chemical preservative which I can immediately smell and certainly taste. Is it really that difficult to provide fresh cut lettuce(even if it IS iceberg) for a decent salad offering. I’m sure the homemade bleu cheese dressing was fabulous, but who could tell with this awful tasting lettuce. Desserts looked fabulous, but we didn’t indulge. I’ll be back to give them another try and I pray the management sees this review and corrects the problems.

I went into cajun tex and had to stand and watch the so called«manager» with glasses and short blonde hair through a little tantrum because customers are coming in around their closing time. She needs to take a little advice and learn that she is working at a restaurant and people will come in near closing time to get food. If you want customers to come back they need to send the manager acting like a little child home and let a real manager who wants to make money work.

It was our first time to have dinner and we were very impressed. The restaurant was very clean, live music and the staff was awesome and friendly. We ordered our food and it was served to us about 15 minutes later. I had the shrimp platter was great and he had the boudin plate which was great too. We started with red beans and rice znd the fried pickles too. The best. We will be going back soon. The prices were very reasonable also.

What a lovely place! Cajun tex delivers again. Saturday night dinner was bumpin with live music and bustle of people. Atmosphere is so much more lively on the weekends because of the band. I ordered the Breaux Bridge classic– my oh my. Blackened catfish with crawfish étouffée poured over. This place sure reminds me of Louisiana. That dish is on point and very affordable. Keep in mind, the blackened catfish portion is twice as much as the fried catfish portion. No idea why it’s such a big difference. I also got the crawfish mac n cheese $ 2.99 special and total came out to $ 15. Mac n cheese was just okay– I was a little disappointed because it reminds me of easy mac. Besides that, all dishes are awesome. Give this place a try! FYI parking lot is a bit small for its popularity, so my coworker and I ended up parallel parking along the side street of the restaurant.

JG score of 5⁄10(+2 for food, +1 for atmosphere, 0 for price, +1 for fountain Diet Dr Pepper, 0 for service and +1 for we return from time to time) Okay, we have eaten here probably 2 dozen times or more even trying different things. Some things are awesome, some are very good and some are just okay so your experience can easily vary on what you get. Our top 3 favorites are the Bayou BLT, the BBQ Shrimp and the Austin Philly Cheesesteak. The atmosphere is a large restaurant all open with Cajun and Texas décor everywhere. It is a nice place to eat in. The price can get over $ 15 easy for one of the better items. They do have fountain Diet Dr Pepper. The service is typical and friendly. We do return here from time to time. It is one of the better places to eat at in Marshall… if you get the right things.

I went in with a group of friends and ordered food expecting it to be good. After waiting almost a hour to get my food it finally gets to my table and is cold as ice. I also ordered«cajun» fries which had no seasoning on them and were just normal out of the freezer bag fries.

First visit, went because of a friend’s recommendation and WILL be coming back. Had the lunch specials — grilled fish and shrimp for me, fried fish and shrimp for the wife. Very tasty hush puppies and veggies. $ 25 for two with tea to drink. Excellent!

Hard to beat a cup of papa’s gumbo and a blackened Breaux Bridge! If you are looking for a cheap fast food joint, look elsewhere. This is great Cajun fare cooked to order and priced just right. I have tried almost everything on the menu since they’ve opened and it’s all good. Live music events throughout the year.

What a great little gem. We lived in southeast Louisiana for years and years. The food in here is pretty darn good. I had the red beans and rice with sausage plus an extra side of hush puppies. My husband had the cajun pork chops with a side of veggies. Both items were tasty and hit the spot. I wished mine had a little more meat in it, but the flavor and thickness of the sauce was right on target. Add a splash of hot sauce and you are good to go. The hush puppies are super delish cooked to crispy corn perfection. I would definitely order them again. My husband seemed to enjoy every bite of the pork chops. The side of mixed veggies were nothing special, but I doubt too many people come here and order them. There are way too many other more tasty things to choose from on this menu. The décor is kitschy and cute. Bayou boats, gators, and loads of fleur de lis art plus purple, gold, and green with a dollop of French QTR motif thrown in for good measure. They have TVs and plenty of room for large parties. I also noticed outdoor patio seating. It was clean in the both the restaurant and bathroom and the staff were friendly and attentive. If your travels brings you through this neck of the woods this aint a bad spot to spend a little time and money.
