We got stranded in Marshall, TX through the faults of Amtrak. Our unimaginable unpleasant experience forced us to stay in town for the night. After walking on foot for 5+ miles over streets and highway, we stopped at Hampton Inn. These people are very friendly and helpful. Our room were clean and we are so very thankful that we have clean shower and bed after being trapped in broken, non-moving train for 7 hours over our supposed travel time. Our experience with Hampton Inn is the only thing that makes this whole mess«ok». Breakfast is great and selection kept fresh. The hotel is within walking distance of Golden Corral and other food opps, perfect for those who happen to travel on foot or just not want to drive far. Thank you Hampton Inn staff for making our terrible experience bearable.

The staff at this Hampton Inn is incredible. The customer service was beyond expectation. I stayed for two nights at the very end of March 15′. The room was on par with most Hampton Inns and the pool was clean. Again the customer service can make or break any stay, and I will be sure to book here again in the future.

No mildew or moldy smells. Very clean. Checkout was at 11, slept soundly until 10:40 as the beds were so comfortable. They provided a pack and play(playpen) which we used as a crib for our infant. The bathrooms were clean and the coffee in the lobby which I got in the morning on the way out was fantastic. I walked out while taking my first sip, put it in the car, and came back in to get one for my wife who doesn’t even drink coffee, just so that I could have a second cup. The front desk attendant was very polite at checkout and also gave us good suggestions for where to grab food.

Marshall, Texas is home to a U.S. District courthouse for the Eastern District of Texas and is a rocket docket. This is the only reason my husband and I have been here twice for extended stays. This place has lost ground since my previous stay and has slid into negative review territory. The rooms smell swampy and moldy. Housekeeping is haphazard, internet connection was down almost two full days, breakfast items one day away from growing mold, some linens threadbare – this place is just tired and not so clean. Corporate(Hampton is a Hilton property) needs to step up to the plate and refurbish this hotel.
