Probably more stars than a regular person would give but I’m a HUGE pottery fan. I love the idea that Marshall Pottery has hung on as long as they have as so many others have just faded away. I do wish the selection and inventory was larger. At least the item being in stock would have been nice, regardless of pattern. I had my heart set on a chicken roaster but none were to be found. There was a «outlet» section that was pretty decent. I scored a couple of very large crocks for next to nothing. Of course there was a crack or some other defect that didn’t make it suitable for liquid storage but made it perfect for an outdoor planter with drainage! As for the rest of the space, yes, it was filled with Texas themed gifts, Garden Ridge type stuff, and lots and lots of planters. They are the only reason to come to Marshall anymore and not a lot of people come. I don’t fault them for having to make money other ways. On another plus, the offer a military discount. Thank you for that! I was able to buy more! I look forward to another trip next time we are in Texas.

I have to be careful not to spend my entire paycheck here. Most recently, I bought several gifts here for international guests. Yes, there are some cheap imports in the main entrance. But if you’re there for the pottery, there is plenty of locally made, beautiful decorative(and functional) pieces to choose from. These are sturdy, well made pots and houseware items. Love it here!

It’s time to step up your game and keep this unique piece of history in business, East Texans. Visited 12⁄12 only to discover that many of the unique, handcrafted, local items were given minimal floor space to make way for cheap imported junk from China and Mexico. Is that what people in Marshall want? What does that say about your community?

I love pottery, terra cotta pots and lovely house plants… you can find them at Marshall Pottery. I visited this store yesterday and it was my very first visit. What prompted me to check this place out was that I have a couple of water pitchers from Marshall Pottery and I wanted to possibly purchase more items from there selection. I have read some disturbing news about this company from way back in the day… but, I realize people to make mistakes and so, I was going to give them a try. I wanted to buy from Marshall Pottery because it’s a historic pottery dealer and they are local. I found interesting pots for both indoors and out, kitchenware, cute, personalized mugs, I even went to their plant nursery in the back area. Being that I arrived 3 hours before closing time, everything was quiet and laid back. I like peace when I shop, so that was fine with me! The prices are awesome on everything in this store… If you’ve ever purchased planters, you know they can be pricy, especially if locally made. The styles range from modern, classic, and something in between. This isn’t a flashy store, you won’t find carpet or classical music playing… you won’t find a harpist playing in the garden; but, you will be fantastic prices. I purchased a gigantic Pythos plant… can’t think of the exact Latin name, but, it’s pretty! Would you believe this plant is longer than me and I paid less than $ 13 dollars for it? I’m not kidding! I think there is a sandwich shop there also, but, I wasn’t hungry and I don’t usually eat at the same place I buy pottery at, but, hey, why not? :0) Oh, and the bathrooms are clean… I had to check them out… my husband said the men’s restroom was clean as well. :0) Don’t forget to drop by Marshall Pottery!

I wasn’t all that impressed with this store. The prices were high and the selection was limited. You can get comparable items at stores like World Market or Hemispheres for less money, and this pottery has less overhead so their markup must be huge.
