Very good, simple food. Had a very tasty, enormous burrito. Service was wonderful and people were super nice. Cheap, family food that is simple and delicious.

Visited Pablo’s today at their new location in Portland/Waterloo. It has always been a great, family-run place with good, affordable food and today didn’t disappoint. The new place is larger than the previous two and was very clean and inviting. My husband had huevos rancheros and I had a burrito(or should I say, I managed to eat a tiny portion of the largest burrito I have ever seen). My husband loved his meal and mine was tasty as well, although I’d say it could have used a little more seasoning and more of a mix of ingredients– it was almost ALL meat and rice, with very little lettuce, tomato, cheese, or sour cream, so more of those things would have made it taste less dry. It was still very good, though, so that’s just a minor critique. However, if you order the burrito, you’d better be wearing your eatin’ pants. And then still be prepared to take home enough leftovers for approximately 3 more meals, Seriously, they are THAT big. There really aren’t many good small, non-chain Mexican restaurants in the area, but this one is a winner.

Recently stopped by after we gave up on getting a table at a new restaurant in Waterloo. Ordered fajitas… included steak, shrimp, and chicken. Although it lacked seasoning, the dish was perfectly cooked. We like this place… love the service… and yes the burritos are huge… but also need more flavor.

Restaurant has moved to Portland. On New Years Day ordered carry out tacos and had an unpleasant wait at the bar with a large group of obnoxious drunks(who weren’t there together). Young woman behind the bar who took my order was very unfriendly. Tacos we ordered were good. Chips and guacamole excellent and fresh. The salsa, however, was as thin as water and about as unfavorable. I would order to go again but would opt to call ahead instead of wait. Salsa needs an upgrade.

This is my favorite place for Mexican food hands down. I’ve ordered tamales, tacos, quesadillas, huevos rancheros etc… its all wonderful. The guacamole is the best I’ve ever had and its a secret recipe. Plus its family/locally owned! It is not a chain, which in my opinion makes it even better.

Awesome food. The tacos are so fresh and the burrito’s are as big as your head. Will eat there again, again and again!!!

Tried to go here for dinner on Saturday night, but the door was locked. No sign with hours or anything. We did see someone on the restaurant side through the window, but he didn’t acknowledge us at all. Very disappointed. :(

Bland as bland can be. The food is about as exciting as a 2 week long computer programming class or the styling of a 2001 Buick LeSabre Low quality products equal low quality meals. Two stars because the place was very clean inside, people were nice and the portions wer large. Seriously. What does it matter if the burrito was lagrer than my gut if I could hardly choke down a fraction of the thing? Make sure you stock up on Charmin if you make the mistake of stopping here. I think a trip to Taco Bell would have been more delighful.

Family business does tacos supreme! We feed the whole farm for not much dinero! Tacos and burritos are the bomb– burritos so big, it makes me 3 meals!!! Even our Dave(garbage pit boy) can’t eat a whole one! Not only do you feel satisfied from the food, you feel great supporting this small local business!

nice people, food is really good and you get quite a bit for the price! atmosphere is not why you come here– good food is. i am not sure why the do jose cuervo mix for their margaritas, that is a bit disappointing(i wont even use that at home-yuk)… but the food makes it a good place to just grab a bite to it.

They have moved about a block east and across the street to the old Marshall Diner building; 111 W. Main; the old sign was still up today. Very good food. The pork in green sauce is excellent and their refried beans were the best I’ve had in some time. The waitress was sure to tell me my order was spicy, but it was perfect in that regard. Only down side was their flan, as they use packaged version from some Milwaukee bakery.
