oysters, clams, mussels — all top notch, and they won’t serve you anything that isn’t the freshest/best(ps — much better food and service than Nick’s a bit further down the road)

Expected much more. Barbecued oysters were under huge layer of ketchup and oil and their taste was more than ordinary because of this. Actually I didn’t feel the taste of oysters, only the taste of ketchup. The story how the great taste of oysters can be spoiled by used ingredients. Fried scallops were ok, but could be much better. Disappointed.

Really quite wonderful.!! Great hometown service, fresh seafood and cold beer !! Tony’s was opened on 1948 and it maintains hints of its age that are charming. All of the seafood was fresh and delicious, salad was nice. It was a little busy and we had to wait a bit but it was worth it, charming view!

I love this place. Great BBQ oysters at a reasonable price. Lots of other offerings too. However, this last time two out of six oysters were minuscule and the fried calamari was not the best I’ve had. But good service, great view and wonderful bbq oysters.

LOVETHEIRBBQOYSTERS! my husband and I stumbled along this place while visiting the area. The BBQ oysters were outstanding. We both ordered another plate and washed it down with cold $ 5.00 beers. The staff was very friendly and speedy. We look forward to go there again real soon.

Amazing experience today. The BBQ oysters were unbelievable and the crab cakes were also. The lemon pie was a great end to the meal. The service was great and the waitress was very helpful. I will be back for sure !

Stumbled upon this place on our way back from Bodega Bay. They were cracking stone crab outside the restaurant and gave us a free sample when we walked in. We were hooked! We ordered the stone crab and fish tacos to split and both were great! I loved the old weathered beach house vibe of the restaurant. The waitress even gave us some tips on how to catch and prepare stone crab on our own. The best part for me was that the owner caught the crab on his own that morning, and caught it sustainably at that! The freshness of the food was the highlight of the meal! If we are ever up that way again we will for sure stop by!

Such bad service I walked out without ordering. Sitting for 10 min servers walked past me half a dozen times with out even acknowledging me. Then 3 guys came in sat downand got drinks and menus right away. There was maybe 15 people in the place with 4 servers. I went down the road a mile and had the best BBC oysters at HOG Bay. Great service and fantastic fun crowd.

Old style rustic seafood place on Tomales Bay. Not fancy, but right on the water. Oysters on the patio barbeque, and a woman busy cracking crab out front — what’s not to like? Excellent fresh seafood dishes come standard with some salad and fries. Presentation is not artistic, but seems just right after a day of kayaking on the bay. This was our second trip here, and both times we loved the food. Service was friendly and casual. This is the kind of atmosphere that Nick’s Cove just north spent(probably) millions to «recreate», but this is the real deal.

Good people here. I found myself in one of those jams that can happen when traveling and needed the help of strangers. Sat down for a beer here and the people working at Tony’s came to the rescue. Plus the crab here is fantastic!

I like this place, maybe because they are open when a lot of the businesses are already closed and it is only about 5:30pm. The seafoods are fresh; the staff are friendly. They only take CASH though, and if you didn’t bring cash, then there is an ATM there where you can withdraw cash.

Came here for late lunch. Service was okay. We ate outside. Nice patio with nice view. Calamari was good. Wasn’t a big fan of BBQ Oysters here…

Stopped here with our kids after Dillon beach because of the reviews. Bottom line: have to say that the oysters were very good. Fish and chips had no flavor, calamari breaded the same way and had no flavor. Garlic fries amazingly had no flavor. Our server was nonexistent probably because there were only 2 for the whole place. We wanted another round of beers since we only had one and just gave up. Wait for bill was so long that family went out to the car while I waited for our $ 130 cash-only bill. $ 155 with tip was ridiculous for 2 adults and 3 kids under 10. Completely not worth it. Haven’t tried other restaurants nearby, but probably worth just heading back to a bigger town for dinner. I’m sure this place does well because of demand, but we won’t ever be back.

For decades Tony’s was our go-to place whenever we were in west Marin. Never again. Lukewarm tasteless clam chowder, tiny overcooked(frozen?) fish fingers in the fish and chips, looked like lots of garlic on the garlic fries but couldn’t taste it at all, fries that obviously came from the freezer, mediocre service. The fried calamari was just rings, no tentacles. The only way that happens is if they buy bags of frozen calamari rings. $ 82(cash only) for two bowls of chowder, fish and chips, a burger, fried calamari appetizer, two cokes, a bottle of beer and a split of sparkling wine. Subtract the chowders and it still would have been $ 70. We could have bought the stuff ourselves from the frozen and canned food sections at Safeway and saved a lot of money. It would also have tasted better and been hot when we got it. Run away, run away!

Been going to Tony’s for 15 years. Was always a place to take Mom, wife etc on the weekend. This past Mothers Day as we passed Nicks and the new spot where it would have taken two hours to get in the door? We continued on to Tony’s? 2 pm it was dead? What the heck lets go in… Wow. rude service from the time we walked in to the time we got food. Prices have skyrocketed, still not credit cards taken. Clam chowder that Campbell’s soup makes a better one… BBQ oysters were still good. But after one last chance .you can have Tony’s and that kinda crappy service, quality, etc when there are others on same road that are polar opposite! To bad… great location, but ya create your own recession guys!

I call the meal I had at Tony’s one of the most expensive of my life, because we paid so much for so little. $ 60(cash, after 2 trips to the ATM) got us 2 apps and 2 meals that included a paltry amount of actual fish, the quality of which did not match what I expected for the location. Apparently we paid a convenience fee for not shucking and cooking everything ourselves, and a sucker fee for not turning right around when we saw the prices on the menu. The only redeeming thing to me is their BBQ oysters. I would come back and only get those. Even though they were highway robbery-priced like everything else, they were damn delicious, juicy, and big. Neither of us had data when we were out there so we couldn’t have Unilocaled this place if we wanted to, but I see it wouldn’t have helped because all the favorable reviews are confusing to me.

Tony’s seafood is a great place for oysters, especially if you don’t want to chuck them yourself. They have a beautiful outdoor patio area you can eat at and enjoy the view of the water. Their fresh oysters and crab was awesome! The only complaint I have is that when we first got there, we had a few of our own snacks out to eat, while the rest of our party was inside placing our full lunch order. The waitress came out and was very rude to us, and said there was no picnicking allowed. She didn’t even allow us the opportunity to tell her that half our party was inside placing an order. She later figured it out and apologized. However, it was very out of line to use the tone she used and to be that rude to anyone. Besides that issue, we enjoyed our meal overlooking the bay!

I have so many memories coming here with my grandparents and parents circa 1989 and now my own kids. The funny part is the facility is exactly the same as I remember it. What I enjoy the most about Tony’s is its simplicity. I’ve been to Nick’s Cove and wasn’t impressed with the food, drinks or attitudes of the servers. Very pretentious. I’ve always had good luck here, and upon entering am reminded of the memories I have with my family. In an area that offers mostly seafood, I go for the $ 1 bread basket and grilled cheese sandwich with crinkly fries. Haha. The menu at Tony’s is basic, inexpensive for the area, yet offers the views and beauty of the surrounding area.

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. To be honest, it is a very modest diner. From the roadside it is extremely unassuming. It looks a bit run down and kinda old. When you try and walk through the porch area from one end to the other you’ll be swamped by fruit flies. But the unassuming nature of it is what makes it great! Its an old school no fuss diner. And it so happens to be at one of the most amazing locations right off the 1 Highway in Marshall, between Tomales and Bodega bay. Where there happens to be plenty of oyster farms. You won’t find seafood fresher that this. Most people drive up the 1 to go to either Tomales Bay Oyster company or Hog Island for oysters. But the issue is that most people don’t realize those places are picnic style. That means you need to bring everything else with you. Not great if you are not prepared. We preferred to come to Tony’s because if you want just a beer or something else to go with your Oysters, you can! Didn’t bring lemons or sauce, its ok, got you covered. Actually want to eat like a human, here’s some cutlery. Its much easier this way. I highly recommend getting both the BBQ Oysters and just the Raw Oysters. Juicy, fresh, just perfect. And order at the bar for the outside seating. Its perfect around 2−4pm as that’s when the sun will start to set. If you are a little more hungry try a Fisherman’s basket as its full of everything. The fish is delicious. And its big enough to share for 2 people. Clam Chowder is good, but not the best. The girls who work here have always been wonderful to us. We come here almost every weekend for a drive, and we always stop in to say Hi, and pick up some Oysters and a beer and sit on the deck to watch the sun set. Its a great experience, I highly recommend coming to this place if you are in the area. PS: There’s often no or limited cell reception here. Also they are cash only.

Hubs and I haven’t been back here in 4 years. We came here on 2÷16÷15 around 3PM. SERVICEWASAWFUL. The waitress was a sweet gal but a horrible waitress. It 15 minutes to order and took us 50 minutes to get our entrees. We sat next to the pickup order window, the two other waitresses orders were coming out like clock work but our waitress orders were all wonky. We kept asking for an update; she kept staying it’s coming. She even had the audacity to chastise the kitchen staff for the late orders; I felt that she put on that display for me and my husband’s benefit. Hmmmm… I find it strange that the two other waitresses had no timing problem with their orders from the kitchen. FOOD: MEDIOCRE. Hubs and I was about to leave after 30 minutes of waiting but our waitress took another waitress’ order of a salad to give to me. Hubs really wanted to try the fish and chips, so we stayed. The fish n chips had a cornmeal type exterior, the fish was a bit over-fried and dry. I had 1BBQ oyster(smothered in a red bbq sauce), 1 shucked oyster(it came with horseradish, lemon slice), and cioppino. I enjoyed the oysters, and the cioppino was just ok tasting. The majority of the mussels were not opened. Hmmm?! Later that next morning, my stomach was a bit unsettled(symptoms of food poisoning).
