Very poor service. Will not go back. Waited forever to get chips and salsa and then for them to take actual order.

This is my favorite restaurant in Marshfield, by far. I’ve never ordered anything that I didn’t like. The service is usually great. The servers make me a little uncomfortable sometimes.

My husband & I just LOVE this establishment. RESTAURANT food is AWESOME. The BEST authentic Mexican food around. We’ve tried other El Charro’s…BUTTHIS one in MARSHFIELD is the BEST. FOOD is outstanding. Friendly staff & very attentive. Place from outside doesn’t look very good. BUT… As they say… Looks are deceiving… Awesome place to dine. Someone mentioned that the salsa was mild… BUT, you can ask them for a small bowl of their spicier salsa & mix it in with the mild sauce & voila. YOU have a spicy salsa.

We were going up interstate I-44 and needed something to eat and saw the signs. Apparently they were in another building that still has their signs on it but is empty. The new site can be seen from the old one. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. This place really doesn’t look very promising but believe me its worth the stop. We make the trip to st. louis a lot and this is definitely on the list for stopping again!

Met friends for supper here tonight. Very enjoyable experience. Friendly and attentive staff made for a great time. Food was delicious, and served quickly. Restaurant was clean, however the bathroom was dirty and in need of cleaning. Very fair priced food. My wife and I ate for 30 bucks, and the other couple we were with ate for 45. Worth a stop in. Disregard the outside appearance, inside is what matters.

El Charro has become a favorite place for my girlfriend and I here in Marshfield. The food is always good and a great value for the price. The only thing I can complain about is that the salsa inconsistent with level of heat. It has since been relocated right next to the hotel and the building updated and remodeled. Great atmosphere.

Wow. We did not have very high expectations when we walked from our hotel over to El Charro. Looks a little run-down, and little bit of a hole in the wall. We asked the front desk at the hotel where we should eat and El Charro was highly recommended. I’m so glad it was! Our party consisted of 3 adults and 3 children. All of us love Mexican food(4 of them are from Texas). This place has pretty dang authentic Mexican food! There are SO many good choices on the menu it’s hard to pick just one. All of our food was amazing. The waiters were also really pleasant, and really funny! They were having a blast with the kids at our table; arm-wrestling, joking around… it was so entertaining! It was earlier this summer that I was there, so I don’t remember all the specifics(what everyone ordered), but I do remember that everyone was really happy with it. The salsa was also really good, which makes a huge difference at a Mexican restaurant! I’d highly recommend El Charro to anyone passing through, or staying in, this part of MO. If you like Mexican food you will not be disappointed!

I highly recommend the fajita’s. I live in Springfield, but when I’m in the mood for excellent fajitas, we drive to Marshfield. The exterior is deceiving, but this is probably one of the best eateries Marshfield has to offer.

Good food. When I saw this place from the outside I was a bit hesitant to go in because the building. It had that look of it used to be some other type of restaurant and was converted cheaply and I’ve had some bad experiences in places that looked like that. When I seen the food those fears disappeared. This is a small but nice place to eat. The food is good, but for the price the food is awesome. Portions are large too. I liked the fact when you order a drink it is in a massive glass. I always liked having a large glass of water or soda at a Mex food place. The staff that day was a mix of English and NonEnglish speaking workers, so might just be pointing at the menu or you might get some small talk. The only things I didn’t like about this place was the salsa to me was on mild side but I just had Mex food the day before way down South Texas and that stuff made me sweat, so I might not be the best measure for what is hot or not! The guacamole though just sucked it had been mixed to the consistency of toothpaste and just tasted… disappointing since the rest of the dish was so very good.

The chimichangas here are outstanding, and the lunch portions are nearly as large as dinner for a fraction of the price. El Charro recently started serving alcohol and has delicious margaritas. El Charro is definitely worth the stop if you’re wanting something decent to eat in Marshfield.
