K N Root Beer Drive In

What a great little gem in this corner of Tennessee. Staying at a local hotel on a recent business trip, I decided to give this place a try this evening — what a great experience. From the easy to understand menu, great prices and top-​notch car-​side service down to the meaty, delicious burger and the ice-​cold root beer, this place is a treasure.
As other reviewers mentioned, they do not accept credit cards so come with cash, but this is a minor inconvenience — in fact, I would put it down to being part of the charm. It honestly felt like stepping back in time a few decades. I ordered a double cheeseburger (#2 style), tater tots, a corn dog and a frozen root beer. All were excellent — crispy tots, tasty burger, fresh and crispy toppings and a proper frozen root beer glass. And all for about ten bucks. Definitely worth seeking out if you are in the area.

Really good local drive-​in eatery. The food is really good. The area seems outdated (as if their technology building is stuck in the early 90s) to the point where they only accept cash only, which is probably their biggest downfall, but the food is worth having cash on hand.

Wonderful service and great atmosphere. Locally owned and operated. Hour change with the seasons so be sure to check the hours before you make the drive. Martin, TN is a small community filled with a lot of kind people.

I have been coming to KN for 46 years and the chili dogs, pink lemonade slush, root beer in a frozen mug, pizza burger and cheeseburgers are ALWAYS delicious! It’s off the beaten path just a bit but worth the short drive. Step back in time with curb service delivered right to your car. The drinks are served in frozen mugs and your food tray hooks to your car window! It’s fun and delicious! You must try it if you are ever in Martin, TN

I grew up in Martin and KN has been a local favorite forever. The cheeseburger with slaw is delicious. Great onion rings and of course root beer in a frosty mug. You can also get root beer by the gallon to take home. For something different try the pizza burger

I would have to say KN has the best burger in town! It does have a lot of close competition though. The onion rings that go with this burger make it even better! My wife knows not to eat at this place without me! Service is always great and it has the feel of a good old american drive in. Don’t let the street view fool you!

I was very wary of this place as the sign is broken and I hardly knew the place was open before I tried it for lunch one day and boy was I pleasantly surprised! The service is fast and friendly, the food is good and the root beer is excellent. The burger was much better than fast food burgers and very reasonable. The tater tots were great also. Best part is definitely the root beer though, and if you’re not into root beer be sure to try the pink lemonade made in house. Very good… To top it all off their shakes are awesome, so creamy and lots of flavor. The peanut butter is my favorite but they’re all good!
To sum up this is a great hidden gem that looks run down and beat up but is serving up good food at very reasonable prices. Anyone in Martin should definitely give it a try.

This is an old drive-​in that brings the food out on a car window tray. The burgers, fries, onion rings, and root beer floats are pretty good. The service is friendly. Cash only — no credit or debit cards.
