Acme Landfill

I came her to drop about 7000lbs of dirt we tore out from the front lawn. The pricing was on par with any where for what we’re dropping. My complaint is they wanted me to dump this load on a hill… Well i’m not sure of any truck that can back down a hill with a load than park and have your transmission rest in park. I got stuck and had to have the excavator push me forward to get back into drive. Fortunately they were super helpful… and they must have known considering it’s probably happened 100x.

Acme Landfill is out near the middle of nowhere, but actually not far from Martinez and the Carquinas Bridge.
This is where all the professionals go to dump their construction waste, gardening greens, wood and old lumber, and most other junk. In fact, this is where 1−800− Gotjunk takes their stuff that you have them haul away.
There are separate areas for different types of waste/​landfill once you get inside the main gate. Your load is weighed going in, you get a pink slip, then you go dump your haul, and you are weighed on the way out again. Depending on the difference determines your costs.
The minimum charge is $ 25, and this probably takes care of most household junk, although they have restrictions of what they will take, so check out their website. If you have recyclable or electronic waste, there are places that specialize in that in the nearby area. Acme also does not take hazardous waste.
Once you get out to the dump area (on a gravel road), you just back up to the edge and dump! There is usually a supervisor there to give you some directions.
This place used to be called Contra Costa Transfer & Recovery, but now it is Acme landfill. Just follow the signs when you take the Marina Exit off highway 680 northbound, which is the last exit before the toll stations.

As far as landfills go, this would be the place to take your garbage. Frankie is a sweetheart and the owner is a hottie!
