The staff is very friendly, however, some of the girls working are inexperienced. I asked the hair dresser for straight but with a little wave. She then proceeded to blow dry in sections then curled with a curling iron. Then, she told me she didn’t know what I meant in the beginning. I’m sorry but why wouldn’t she have double checked with me to see what I meant exactly? I don’t know. Well, then she apologized and started blow drying my hair straight with a round brush. But didn’t put any heat protecting product or frizz control. My hair ended up very frizzy. Especially knowing I have curly hair. It was just a waste of my time and money unfortunately. I’m not saying all the stylist are like that but REMEMBER TO ask for an experienced stylist.

Have been in the Augusta area for over a year. Got a recommendation from a friend who had a great hair color and amazing highlights. I used her recommendation of Carrie. She did a great job and extremely reasonable. I will definitely be back.

I recently moved to the area and have been looking for a salon. I received a «welcome to the neighborhood» packet with information about the salon and based upon the review on Unilocal,decided to give it a try. They were very personable and had an appointment the same day that I called. I asked for a «seasoned» stylist, as I have very fine and long hair, and wanted to make sure they put me with someone who knew how to cut it. They set me up with Carrie. Again, she was very nice, appeared to listen to me about my hair and the way I wanted it cut; I ONLY wanted a trim to clean up the ends; I was VERY clear about no texturizing). She said she understood; both my trepidation about getting my hair cut by someone new, as well as the way I wanted it cut. Then, she started cutting. She was behind me, so I could not see what she was doing. After a short while, she mentioned that she was «point-​cutting» the ends, at which point I realized she was using texturizing shears. Anyone who knows anything about fine hair knows that you don’t texturize it with those shears; all it does is thin it more. I won’t go into detail (though I could) about the mess she made of my hair. The next day, I went to see my colorist and the hair was so texturized (not just the ends, but at least 4 inches into the hair) that he had a hard time getting the foils to even stay in the hair. I was very unhappy before I left and she had the owner look at it, who’s idea to fix it was to texturize it some more to get it to blend. I obviously did not let them do anything else. I had a terrible experience, my hair is a mess (going to have to get a ton cut just to fix it). It is a shame that my hair was in great shape before going in (with only minor split ends) and it looks awful and unhealthy now just because a stylist decided to do what she wanted, not what she agreed to do based on the consultation and my wishes. I am glad the person who wrote the other review had a good experience. Mine was terrible, and one that has set me back at least a year to get my hair back to where it was initially. I will never go back.

Moved back into town a few months ago and have been looking for a new salon to try out. I went to the Avail website and liked what I saw, so I called up for an appointment. Whoever answered the phone was incredibly polite and friendly, and they worked me in for the next week. I even got a text reminder of my appointment the day before (very helpful!).
The salon itself is clean, modern, yet cozy and inviting. It wasn’t very busy when I walked in (apparently Monday and Tuesday are kind of quiet), but I was greeted with a smile. I told them I had an appointment with Carrie, and was told she would be right out. She took me back to her station in under 5 minutes.
I explained to Carrie my concerns from past haircuts, and my hard-​to-​color hair. She seemed to understand, made suggestions, asked me questions and off we went! It turned out perfectly, exactly what I wanted. She spent plenty of time on my cut, making sure it was just right before I left.
Overall I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone. I’ll hold off on my 5-​star review until another visit. Every staff member I interacted with was very friendly and seemed to genuinely like their job (hard to find these days). Can’t wait to go back!
